Nzoner's Game Room>****The Tyreek Hill Thread***

With the 165th pick, in the 5th round.

Nutt said that Toub felt Hill was like Devin Hester.

As far as sports, if you can play, someone will give you a chance. Hoping dude wrecks his knee is a little extreme. I would have loved for us to take a chance on Johnny and see what reaction we get on here.
He said he hit her. He has flat out admitted to doing so.

He just suggested he had a justification for doing it. That's pretty fucked up.

And regardless of what he does on the field, I will be rooting for him to fail. I will not cheer when he receives and I will continue to lose respect for this organization every time they allow him to don their uniform.

Your football team is little more than laundry; you should at least be able to respect the men wearing it.

It's interesting to me to see the difference of opinion on this vs the berry situation a few years ago. Iirc, you were a proponent of not paying him if he doesn't play because it's a business.

Now in a different situation they should be morally sound in decision making.

Not that either of those opinions are wrong, just that these social opinions and stuff of this nature has always been interesting to me.

Somewhat like people excusing this but holding firm on that. Sociology is a crazy thing to me.

True; tough to reconcile that. Ultimately I have a little girl; don't have cancer.

I've always said that I suck at empathy - this is probably one of those times. If I can't relate to you, I probably can't gin up much concern for you; definitely something of a character flaw (well...it's not, but I'm told that I'm supposed to say that it is).

I can't relate at all to the guy that hits women. But I'm not too terribly far removed from having an occasionally crazy pregnant woman in my house and not too terribly far away from having a constantly crazy teenage girl in my house. The idea of hitting either of them is absolutely batshit to me so it's easier for me to tell that guy to fuck right off.

Again...I just don't do empathy.

Yeah, pretty much where I'm at.

I've never been in a position that hitting a women came to mind, I can't relate to that either.

That's all that matters. We all want to win. To my knowledge, I haven't seen him on any police blotters prior to or after this situation. Let's see what happens. If he helps us win and stays out of trouble, what's the problem?

I'm pretty sure that comment would make a psychologist shoot milk out of their nose. Or whatever liquid psychologists drink while browsing Internet forums. :-)

For the record, I couldn't care less what your opinion of me on this website is.

You're so far up your own ass on this issue that I find your reaction and opinion hilarious. Your upset with the Chiefs draft because they selected players that you, in your completely uninformed, useless opinion, have deemed as not worthy of their selection status. You've let your anger at the draft cloud your reason.

As for Hill, I simply don't believe that the story is exactly as this woman has stated. I understand that you do, and that is your right, but I've seen too many crazy women attempt to push men into a bad reaction because they know that they can get away with it. This doesn't excuse his actions, whatever they were, but IMO he deserves a chance to fulfill his dream. My opinion isn't based off of the team that drafted him. If he had been drafted by Oakland or Denver I would feel the same way.

Anyway, have a great evening. You seem like a really nice guy and completely reasonable (not really, but I'm supposed to say that). :-)

There are PLENTY of people that don't want to see Johnny Manziel in the NFL ever again and I'm squarely in that group.

And the moment the tenor of that conversation shifted radically was when he hit his girlfriend. And I'd imagine the same people that are defending this guy by saying his girlfriend was some mouthy bitch that probably provoked him were also saying the same about Manziel.

Same with the pot shit - NOBODY cares about pot anymore except for a handful of decisionmakers in the NFL that don't want their guy getting suspended. Yeah, people called Tunsil an idiot because c'mon man, keep that shit buried until after the draft. They didn't call him a thug because of pot, they called him an idiot because of timing. And after it came out that he was probably hacked, people were largely sympathetic (and found the whole story increasingly bizarre). As for Phelps, he wasn't looking at getting drafted by the NFL. He wasn't worried about a suspension for recreational drug use. He was 4 years away from any kind of competitive environment. Nobody gave a shit because there truly was no consequence for it.

By most accounts, Hali's suspension was for recreational usage; anybody go around calling Hali a thug? Of course not. Who rode Houston's ass after his positive test? Nobody; we were excited about getting him in the third.

Because popping positive for a pot test? That's a mistake.

Beating your pregnant girlfriend? That's being an irredeemable motherfucker and yes, a thug. I still hope the fucker wrecks his knee and never plays a down.

Well said.

Regardless of what led up to him hitting and choking his pregnant girlfriend, he still hit and choked his pregnant girlfriend.

Therefore, he's a piece of shit.

Therefore, I hate that the Chiefs drafted him.

Therefore, I hope he blows out his knee in practice and then breaks his parole while in rehab, so I never have to watch a piece of human excrement play on a Sunday for the Chiefs.

I also hope his cellie in prison is Ramsay Bolton. That'll sort him.

There will be an Outside the Lines special on Hill in about 30 minutes. Should shed some light on everything.

Ah yes, the NFL PR's arm, the same network that gave Greg Hardy a day to bounce from program to program while denying all culpability, will surely pull the curtains back and show us all what we're missing here.

ESPN hasn't had a shred of journalistic credibility in a decade and whatever dying embers of professionalism still existed were doused by Greg Hardy pissing all over them (if they weren't already extinguished by Schefter asking if the NFL was lenient enough w/r/t Ray Rice).

ESPN can go take a beating from Tyreek Hill.

The man is going to run one back, with 4 seconds on the clock and down by 6, to end the Superbowl (pending PAT).

And we will cheer our Gladiator and buy his Jersey. Children will be consummated that night and they will be named Tyreek. Or Ty if they are white.

I doubt anybody will be upset at that very moment. After 47 years
