That's a terrible waste of resources then. Clowney could have filled that role and been a lot cheaper. Or spread the money out and keep our draft picks and get multiple good players so they cant just run to the opposite side and get 7 yards a carry.

Seahawks got Clowney for a 3rd round pick next year and didn't have to give him a new deal. We should have done that and then used the saved picks to fix the left side of the defense where they're gashing us on the run.

The 1st round pick they gave up for Clark wasn't going to "fix the defense" anymore than trading it might.
