2023 – A new beginning for the Royals. Matt Quatraro era begins. A year to see which of our young players will make up the core going forward. Can Bobby Witt Jr become a superstar SS or will go to the hot corner? Will Brady Singer take the next step forward? Will Salvy be Salvy? Will Big Vin or Pratto take first base? Will they find a position for MJ? Who else emerges from the youth movement? Not to mention the development of the new downtown stadium.

Figured this might happen with all of them injuries to outfielders this spring training. Bradley is good insurance and can play center at Kauffman [Reply]

That was my first thought as well. At least it is a minor league contract so perhaps it is just to add a little depth and kick the tires in spring training to see what he has. The past regime would definitely have him on the ML roster and playing 150 games while contributing a negative WAR.
This will be a good test to see if the new regime is truly different. [Reply]
Quatraro: "I feel better about the depth, not because we didn't feel good about who was in camp. ... I feel better about the depth, because you know how it is. One injury, and all of a sudden you're really scrambling."
Of course Scherzer is going to be the one to figure out how to use the clock to his advantage. Hitter only gets one timeout now so he forces him to use it, then waits on him to step back in so he can attack.

Baseball was played at this speed in the 70's and 80's and there was nothing wrong with it. Not sure when anyone who has watched baseball or cares about the past has any complaints about the pitch clock. It's getting the speed of play back onto what used to happen. The game evolved to be slower and it isn't needed. [Reply]

Like this just a regular game from the 1985 season. 2 1/2 hour game. The last 30 minutes is the knock off SportsCenter

In Dane's defense, he was very rarely correct on any of his hot takes. He just delivered them with only the gusto a blowhard like him could and would yell at anyone on here who disagreed with his usual shitty takes. [Reply]

Looks like a zoo, with the big round windows behind home plate. [Reply]
