So this pretty much confirms Russell is a bonehead.^^^

No wonder he's only won one playoff game in 5 years.

:-)

That 4 game stretch with 7 INTs has already been discussed quite a lot in this thread, obviously Chiefs fans like to focus on it. How about the fact that after that 4 game stretch he finished out the season with 12 TDs and 3 INTs? Or that Mahomes had his own 4 game stretch with 7 INTs last season?

If you actually read the article you’d see the difference

No one cares about that. I see that you're back to comparing Wilson to Mahomes again, btw. :-)

Here's what you should be concerned with:

But inside team headquarters, concerns were growing about Wilson's legs.

BY THIS POINT, some within the Seahawks believed Wilson's best days were behind him. Their concern wasn't with the finger injury that had sidelined him for three games in 2021. Some believed Wilson's escapability -- one of the traits that made him an elite quarterback worthy of elite money -- was waning.

"He's not as mobile as he used to be," said one source in the Seahawks' front office.

"I just felt like he's a descending player," another front-office source said, citing the same mobility concern. "Is he going to be able to be a true pocket passer at the end of his career and just stand there and drop the ball off to his checkdowns? He's never done that. I can't tell you he's going to be able to do that."

"It's going to get more and more difficult for him to create and do what he used to do ... I do think that's going to be harder," said former Seahawks quarterback Brock Huard, who co-hosted a radio show on Seattle Sports Station 710-AM during most of Wilson's career with the Seahawks.

doesn't matter

they're convinced his legs are about to go

and once his legs go, he's done

he's going to need to be in a run heavy offense to thrive

if they give in to russ ego and let him throw 40 times a game they're going to regret it

their OL isn't great either

That’s why this contract is essentially a 3 year deal. They know he’s got a little left but not for long.

They were desperate to get Wilson simply to start having winning seasons and compete

But he'll melt down if he's in a run-heavy offense again. Quite the catch-22.

Hate to see it...:-)

Keep in mind, this is the same front-office who wanted a trade with Denver because of Drew Lock :-):

Spoiler!

They should've listened to the coaches, instead:

Spoiler!

So they gave up 2 firsts and 2 seconds to acquire a guy for 3 years?

PAy-a-TON is a genius :-)

We're back to pretending that Drew Lock wasn't a throw-in?

I'm sure the Seahawks REALLY valued him, and not the 5-6 draft picks and Fant...

Don’t forget that Russell Wilson didn’t even want to be in Denver. He clearly stated a year prior he preferred the Cowboys, Bears, Saints and Raiders (:-)).

And Denver didn’t want him at first either. It’s no secret Denver hired Hackett to lure Rodgers. He was who they wanted but settled on Wilson.

So basically the Broncos and Wilson settled on each other

So the same guy who was interested in replacing Wilson with Mahomes or Allen now believes that Drew Lock is the answer? You can't be foolish enough to actually believe that Lock was the centerpiece of the trade...right? :-)
