2023 – A new beginning for the Royals. Matt Quatraro era begins. A year to see which of our young players will make up the core going forward. Can Bobby Witt Jr become a superstar SS or will go to the hot corner? Will Brady Singer take the next step forward? Will Salvy be Salvy? Will Big Vin or Pratto take first base? Will they find a position for MJ? Who else emerges from the youth movement? Not to mention the development of the new downtown stadium.

Nothing I have ever seen about a new Royals stadium even remotely suggests the cost will be between $4 billion and $6 billion. That would place it as one of the most expensive stadiums ever built in the history of the United States.
The team has not done a great job around this stadium thing but the $6 billion thing has to be coming from someone who wants to torpedo it. Sofi Stadium cost $5.5 billion and that thing has that giant freestanding roof. Unless they're planning to put in fountains that shoot out liquid gold I can't see how you get to $6B. [Reply]
Frank was a revered individual in this City. He's almost gone out of his way to sabotage that legacy completely - and why really? Ego? Thought he deserved more? I dont get it. [Reply]
SoFi was $5.5 bil and the next closest is $2.03 bil for MetLife. Those are the only 2 stadiums in the world to exceed $2 bil. I know building material is pretty expensive, but no fucking way this thing is going to cost triple the price of MetLife.
$6 bil would be the cost of the number 2, 3, and 4 highest priced stadiums in the world combined. Those stadiums are also in places where things cost wayyyyy more. That number is completely full of shit. [Reply]
You know, it was just 38 years ago last Sunday (10/22) that Frank stood in the box at Busch Stadium as the first 2B to bat cleanup in a World Series. And hit a titanic HR to left center field off Joaquin Andujar that, to this day, I’ll never understand how that ball went so far. Left CF in that stadium is where balls went to die. He crushed that ball. Tito Landrum took took 3 steps and just looked up as the ball went deep into the tunnel.
And 38 years ago today, we celebrated the Royals first WS title.
Franks just worried his statue wouldn't travel well.
I also think Frank is figuring in the entertainment district that goes in around it. That would bump up the price tag in his estimated range. [Reply]

Entertainment district isn't considered the stadium. He's being deceitful and pushing an agenda. [Reply]
There are a ton of people who aren't gonna wanna pay taxes for a stadium..that's an easy stance and article to write it's not like 95% of the market is a sports fan. [Reply]
