They need to trade 2 of Gallagher, Viloria, and Rivero to make room for Melendez at AAA. Probably will happen in the off-season when the long-term trade market is better.
Demoting one of those guys to make room for MJ would probably lower their trade value.
Not what i would do, but I suspect that’s a factor.

The turnaround has been amazing for him and Pratto. I was really down on them along with Matias in Wilmington. Doesn’t look like Matias will ever be able to avoid strikeouts enough to be playable in the majors, but the other two are night and day better from where they were at 2 years ago.
