Chiefs prez Mark Donovan, when asked this AM about potential new stadium options, said the team has considered options in state of Kansas. They like Arrowhead and legacy of Lamar Hunt’s stadium, but have been pitched by Kansas developers on a bunch of options. Something to watch.

Rain- that is the coolest idea. Would have never thought of that [Reply]

While cool idea, logistically and legally it would be a nightmare due to states having different taxes, liquor laws, etc. [Reply]

Good idea except for all the stupid Wizard of Oz jokes we would hear [Reply]
Cool thought but since the Missouri river is the dividing line, you'd have to build the stadium in the middle of the river. I'm sure it could be done above or below but might get a little pricey even by Hunt standards. [Reply]

OR you could just do it on the part of the state line that ISN'T the river [Reply]
Was gonna say it would need to be built south of the river but no idea of any LARGE commercial land that would fit the bill?
Doesn't the downtown airport run on both side of Kansas and Missouri? Maybe it relocates to arrowhead/Royals and Royals move downtown and Chiefs take over the downtown airport lot...
Otherwise tmax had a great idea of just putting it on the river! Casinos dont move to much! [Reply]

Ah no.
From the west bottoms and down south KC could be done. But why would the Hunts want to pay taxes to two states? Plus the players would hate paying taxes to both states. [Reply]

Kansas would just be a business trip. Their place of employment would be missouri. They could write off the cost of any Gatorade that they're drinking on the Kansas side. [Reply]
