The thing about bets like this, I imagine, is the person who has 360K to bet on a college basketball game probably can lose said 360K without much worry. Unless they are maybe like that Phantom Gambler guy. Do you know that story? The Phantom Gambler? Look it up, it's a hell of a lot more interesting than this game is, I can tell you that. [Reply]

Pitiful showing...pitiful
No argument on your second sentence.
However, the line closed at tip with USC a 1.5 point favorite. Losing a game you never had a chance in as the underdog is not a choke. Plus, anyone with eyes who watched any KU this year knew that the Sweet 16 was the absolute ceiling for this team. Certainly not an inspiring performance but they got whipped by a team with a lottery pick and from a conference that is clearly better than what most folks thought.
Texas got beat by its much younger, much smaller step brother as nearly a DD favorite. Now that’s a choke. [Reply]

Although Gonzaga is the best. Someone will need the perfect game to take them down.
Gonzaga is a mid major. At least based on the classic definition. They've just been good for so long, it's easy to consider them a big time school. But they play in the West Coast Conference. I hope they win at least one after all this time.
Other than that, the only true Cinderellas are Loyola (who is an 8 seed and coming off an Elite 8 run a few years ago) and Oral Roberts which would be the coolest thing ever if they won. Everyone else that's a lower seed is kinda "meh" factor. I guess Oregon State but would anyone really be excited if they won (other than their fans) ? UCLA can fuck off with their 11 seed. They're still the historical royalty of the sport. [Reply]
