Looks like we catch a break not having to face Goedert. He's out for the next four weeks with a fractured forearm.
Eagles’ TE Dallas Goedert has a fracture in his forearm and will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine if there is any further damage, as well, per sources. Either way, Goedert is set to miss time and is an injured reserve candidate. pic.twitter.com/rd9Lnw1fsA

The Broncos had no other option, so they tried it and it kinda worked. It worked enough, we can say that.
The Eagles offense can do that, however. They can put the ball on the ground and scrounge up, say, 24 points, and dare Mahomes and the offense to match when they're losing time of possession 2:1.
And I really, really don't think Hurts is a system QB. I think he's a top 5 talent.
I do agree with your assessment: if the Chiefs force them to get out of the run game, I still think the Eagles can get some success against us, but their odds to win drop dramatically.
Bolton is the key missing against the run, but the Eagles killed Bolton in the SB on QB runs (minus the fumble TD return). Bolton kept being put in the spy role and couldn't catch Hurts. Tranquil is much faster than Bolton so I think that's gonna make things harder.
The Eagles secondary is terrible. Howell 2X, Dak and Cousins shredded them. It's bc their corners are old and on the decline. CGJ leaving was a bigger loss for them as well which is why they traded for Byard.
We'll have our shots in the passing game even with our issues. It's gonna be a good one [Reply]

He’s also ignoring that the Broncos scored all of their points from no worse than midfield after Chiefs offense and special teams errors.
TD1: started at the KC 39 after a long punt return.
TD2: started at the 50 after a Chiefs fumble
TD3: started at the KC 10 after a fumbled punt
FG: started at the KC 10 after an interception and 33 yard return [Reply]
The fucking Commanders scored a combined 62 points in 2 games against the Eagles, but sure, the Chiefs won't be able to score on the Eagles coming off a bye week.
This is EXACTLY why we make fun of you and don't take you seriously.
This has all the makings of a blowout.
Especially with zero film Richie James having a coming out party. [Reply]

I’ve seen this same point from several pussies who don’t want to believe in the Chiefs defense.
The 2 big runs from Mostert on the final (non-scoring I might add) drive boosted his YPC when the Chiefs were clearly defending the pass to not get beat deep.
Mostert was completely bottled up for 95% of that game. [Reply]

This is the perfect description of every Direckshun worry post. Paper worry. Add in attributing pick 6s and so forth to the defense, it's worrying over box scores and roster hype. [Reply]

I honestly wonder if he even watches the games. [Reply]

And the irony is that he thinks he's the one with this unique analytical perspective that we all just aren't smart enough to see. [Reply]

I really mean it when I say I'm not remotely sure how the Chiefs are going to score. This Philly defensive line is monstrous, deep, with all kinds of veterans savvy and youthful athleticism. I like their linebackers and I think their secondary is not as horrendous now as it's been for part of the season, but the strength is their defensive line, which is probably the league's best. We couldn't even hold off a Dolphins or Broncos DL that was half as talented; I would just get your expectations right. Mahomes is going to get beat up this game.
This is why I'm not a coach.
Now, here's what I do know. Andy Reid is very skilled off a bye, and is also skilled at playing DLs that dial up a ton of pressure. He has all sorts of tricks in his bag, and I do think that secondary can be picked apart by a smart QB, and Mahomes is probably the league's smartest. But I don't know if the Chiefs have the weapons downfield to get the job done. It's going to be really hard to score.
On the other side of the field, I dread owning AJ Brown in fantasy this week because the Chiefs' specialty is taking away a teams' #1 WR threat. I actually don't think Devonte Smith can do a ton of damage this week either -- this Chiefs defense's strength is the secondary, Dave Merritt has everybody in that secondary playing well, and Spags is 9-0 this season.
Swift, however, has been looking exactly like the kind of RB that the Chiefs have struggled with this season. He's slippery, takes more than one tackler, and he runs behind the league's best OL.
The Chiefs defense has given up 21, 9, 10, 20, 20, 8, 17, 24, and 21 points this season. Only the Broncos have had the answer for the Chiefs team, and sure enough, the Broncos were the only team bold enough (and had few enough other options) to just run it straight at us all game.
Personally, I don't think the Eagles are super well coached (they're just more talented), and if they were well coached, they'd run it right at us all game with Swift, Hurts, Penny, and Gainwell. I think that's where you can get us. It's our lone weak spot, and it serves the dual purpose of keeping Mahomes off the field. And not every team can do that, but the Eagles talent is so absurd everywhere that they can.
You are 0-9 this season, however, if you bet against Spags. I just think this is the league's best offense. I expect an output of about 24 points or so.
Can the Chiefs score 24+ points against the Eagles? Ehhhhhhhh
The Eagles and Chiefs put off similar vibes in the way they let off the gas peddle when they feel confident rather than putting the hammer down. At the same time they rise up when playing better competition. This is going to be one heck of a game. [Reply]
