Even as 8 and 10 year olds watching that show, my brother and I would discuss how we would find a way to bone Rogue or die trying. [Reply]
Good episode this week, sets up the final four episodes.
Spoiler!
Figured there would be no resolution to Gambit and Magneto this week. Storm and Xavier returning was a good trade off for the lives taken last week, was a good test for Storm to reawaken even though she's had to fight her claustrophobia before, went down how you'd expect it. This week had some crazy good dialogue, "Milky Way Ghetto." was an all time great, and was great to get a glimpse into the Shi'ar empire again. Gladiator is OP as he always was, but still hoping for a reset button coming up via Cable. Don't think I'll ever be happy if Gambit truly is dead, or somehow they resurrect Magneto but not him, and I don't think they'd let Magneto stay dead, so if Magneto comes back then Gambit better be back too dammit!

Gambit and Magneto's deaths REEK of the "Days of Future Past" film stunts. You show the heroes getting killed, for real, and then there's some time travel ****ery that is able to undo it all while still providing the spectacle.
Gambit went out like a ****ing boss. It would be a shame to undo that level of badassery, because imo it's hard to beat a death like that just absolutely nuking that three headed abomination.
Cable arriving, warning everyone beforehand, time slide alarm goes off, he specifically says " Not again" before apologizing and veing yoinked back through time.
This is clearly an event that Cable has been trying to undo multiple times. If they'd only killed Gambit, maybe he's never successful in undoing it.
But there is no ****ing way that Magneto stays dead, this early into a revived series.

Cue time travel ****ery in 3...2...1.....
Spoiler!
I wouldn't be happy with Gambit dying but it would be interesting if they had him dying over and over again no matter how many times they went back in time, a fixed point kinda like the Flash movie, that he always sacrifices himself for Rogue, that would put some great added layers onto their relationship. Not like I'm not going to watch anymore and throw a tantrum but I have to admit it sucks that he was the one that was chosen to die, like take Jubilee, Beast or Morph. But yeah he went out like a BAMF it also sucks that this is the most badass he's ever been portrayed in any show and they use it to ice him, like DAMMIT I finally get peak Gambit and I can't enjoy it for but ten minutes.
Some have mentioned that maybe Apocalypse resurrects Gambit as one of his four horsemen like the comics for next season, I could get behind that.

I don't think magneto is dead. Remember the golden rule. No body no death. My guess is that while he had the shield up night crawler teleported everyone out.
I doubt they'll pull a time travel reset at the end of this, it would really cut the knees out from under the show. If they just reset it, what's the point? Also if this is part of the MCU multiverse I have to wonder if they'll retcon the MCU time travel rules into it.

I think Magneto is alive, but they may play the long game with it. One of the comic arcs they're borrowing from is 'E is for Extinction', where Magneto is seemingly killed in a Sentinel massacre on Genosha. Later a new character called Xorn joins the team, but is eventually revealed to be Magneto in disguise when he goes crazy and attacks New York (then is almost immediately retconned into not being Magneto after all, because comics). But the point is, in the comics, this took like 40 issues to play out. And remember, they had already written season 2 and were working on season 3 when the showrunner was fired.

Isn't Rogue holding his dead charred body at at the end of the episode?
I've really enjoyed this show. It's been a fun ride. [Reply]
