I'm sure that feeling is mutual.

Lmao, Eric Hosmer is a ****ing bitch. The front office did him dirty? By giving him way more money than he ever deserved and him sucking shit every year he's been there? What a spoiled fuck.

I can see it though, Hosmer's made $100 million and won a World Series and accomplished a lot of great things, I doubt he feels the need to accommodate anyone. Especially when he feels like the Padres front office hasn't treated him well.
What's his beef, exactly?

In his defense on this trade situation, the team agreed to the no-trade. It's not really screwing them over to expect it to be honored. If anything, they're kind of screwing him by putting him in this position. Usually, these things (waiving the no-trade) are worked out ahead of time and not after the trade is announced/leaked.

100% agree.

When players try to renegotiate before their contract is up, ownership typically starts at a position of "go fly a kite, this is the contract you signed".

No one is getting more screwed between Hosmer and the Padres than the Padres. Hosmer has been paid a little over $100M so far? Hosmer has given them back 0.3 total fWAR for that money, thats like $2M worth of performance over 4.5 years.

He hasn't really beefed with them, but they didn't tell him that they were trying to trade him. For all the mistakes Dayton's made that's not something he does. Andy Reid is the same way, like how they told Alex Smith they were drafting Mahomes. It's not the end of the world but you take care of your veteran guys. That's how you poison the clubhouse for a Padres team that underachieved massively last year.

Future Hall of Famer Zack Greinke probably could help someone but the Royals have decided not to deal him. He stays in KC.

I wish we could put a trade deadline package together to trade some of the know-it-all criticize everything assholes in this thread to another team's fandom in exchange for a couple fans that know something about baseball and have some humility and respect for people who have accomplished something.

I guess I don't get all the shitting on Hosmer in this thread. He was great for us, even if he didn't live up to his draft status (offensively). He was a big part of bringing us two pennants and a Trophy.

Now, I am glad we didn't pay the ridiculous contract that SD gave him. That would have been a HUGE mistake and would have tarnished his legacy here. That said, San Diego signed him to the contract they did, agreed to a no trade clause for 10 teams, did a deal with him in it without telling him ahead of time and then sending him to a team that was on his no trade list.

If I was Hosmer I would tell them to get bent too. They tried to do him dirty and he told them to 'fuck off'. Good for him. He'll end up getting sent somewhere else, somewhere better than fucking DC.

Add another Royals player to the potential trade list: Brad Keller is drawing interest from other clubs, per source.
