And how do you prove to everyone that Jon is the son of Rhagar? Did Ned leave some secret document in the crypts?
Yeah that's the freaking problem...you have Reed..but in that scene they showed that Dorne hand maiden or whatever for a reason. I think she is alive and will attest to the fact that Lyanna had a son and that son was taken by Ned Stark to Winterfell and that Rhaegar is the father. Buuut we don't know if they were married or not, I didn't check to see if she had a ring in the bloody bed scene. [Reply]

And I have that feeling because I read it somewhere. But I can't fucking find it anywhere.
Makes sense that if ned didn't even tell his wife about it how was he gonna let the maiden leave and take the chance she would sell them out.
We are talking about the word of a hand maiden from 25 years ago? How does she even prove she was in the room? Yeah, Ned doesn't tell a soul but he lets the hand maiden walk away? No way. She has to be someone that Ned trusts without question.
I'm sure they will have some plot device to authenticate to all of Westeros that R+L=J. [Reply]

I think R+L=J is a massive red herring. Jon's claim is based on having Stark blood not being a secret Targaryan. Really, he wouldn't care. He was raised as a Stark in the North and he looks like one. Not that I think he wants either the Iron Throne or the throne of The North.
I doubt Howland Reed is going to say anything in public. Though him showing up at Winterfell would be a great boost to Jon's support. That he traveled out of the neck in a time of great unrest in the Riverlands to basically give his blessing. Not to mention he was Ned's best friend. [Reply]

Yes, when he was saving Mormont at Castle Black from the white walker. He grabbed a lamp and threw it at the white walker to burn it and kill it. Burned his hand. [Reply]
