2023 – A new beginning for the Royals. Matt Quatraro era begins. A year to see which of our young players will make up the core going forward. Can Bobby Witt Jr become a superstar SS or will go to the hot corner? Will Brady Singer take the next step forward? Will Salvy be Salvy? Will Big Vin or Pratto take first base? Will they find a position for MJ? Who else emerges from the youth movement? Not to mention the development of the new downtown stadium.

Good defender. Offense has been subpar. I do think he has a 25 HR season in him, he hits the ball in the air plenty. The lack of OBP is killing his value. I wish he could get his walk rate back to higher minors levels. [Reply]
Is this guy brilliant from his days with the Rays or a complete bust from his days with the Red Sox? Need to figure out if I'm pro/anti his taking over for JJ or at least being some sort of advisor. [Reply]

Boston is the ultimate pressure cooker of a job because it has won four titles since 2004.
Bloom was expected to win and build the farm system at the same time, ala Andrew Friedman in LA. He built the farm system back up but the Red Sox didn't win other than a surprise 2021 showing.
I thought many of his big league moves were head scratchers. I always thought their roster was underwhelming for a big market franchise with their type of resources. [Reply]

You mean he took a flyer on an extremely talented SS who had injury concerns? Yes. And what did they give up? A shitty 30 yr old reliever. I dont think that was a bad move by any stretch... it hasn't worked out for either team. But its a low risk, high reward type move that can really pay off if it works out. I mean i get the Albrokie hate around these parts, but let's be real. I can live with this move from his perspective.
He rebuilt a minor league system in just a couple of years that was completely gutted by Dembrowski. [Reply]
