So there's an article on NFL network saying that Orlando Brown is expected to sign for 6 years $145 mil.
That comes to $24.16 mil/yr and makes him the highest paid offensive lineman in football. It also would give him the 19th highest salary per year in the NFL
How would you feel if that is the contract he ended up signing?
I'm fine with it. He is a top 5 LT and he's only 26 next season. A young great LT is a guy you can't let leave. [Reply]
It wouldn't matter where he plays. He's not going to magically be more consistent just because he's playing on the right instead of the left. That's why it's so incredibly frustrating with him. He has the talent to be an elite LT. He's flashed it enough for it to not be a fluke. But it not nearly consistent enough to make him our long term LT. [Reply]

Veach, don’t pay this guy. Not one cent. You can get a rookie and pay Andre Dillard like $6-8 million for this level of play.

They just take him wide and outrun him.
The last play of the game where he gave up a terrible pressure AND THEN gave up on the play after that when he probably could've bumped the defender JUST ENOUGH to give Mahomes the 1/4 step he needed it he would've hustled and stuck with it. But no, he stops and looks around like he does on every damn play after someone runs around him. He has to have the slowest feet I've ever seen on an OT [Reply]
Chiefs offensive line pressure rate allowed (per PFF - min. 300 pass blocks)
Creed Humphrey 2.5% (8th out of 25 centers)
Joe Thuney 3.1% (15th out of 45 guards)
Trey Smuth 4.8% (27th/45 G)
Wylie 7.4% (46th out of 54 tackles)
Orlando Brown Jr. 7.4% (47/54 T) [Reply]
:-) He's just consistently inconsistent. It's been that way since he got here. Sure, that was a pretty extreme swing we saw on Sunday but nothing new. [Reply]

So both the LT & RT are worse than 85% of the starting OT's in the league. Pretty rough. [Reply]

They won’t, and that is what makes this so goddamn infuriating. You know they’re all watching the film. How do they keep making excuses for this? I don’t care how much Brown is getting paid, he cannot be a LT for this team. It’s done and over with. It’s been almost two years. Tell him to move to RT or sit down.
You can’t let the best QB in the world risk getting seriously hurt because you don’t want to hurt Orlando Brown’s fat ego and want to “maintain continuity.” I just watched the Packers 3rd string LT play better than I’ve ever seen Brown play in like his second start at LT. Dude is a rookie nobody. That shouldn’t happen.
There is at least one guy on this roster somewhere who would be an upgrade from Brown. I’m sure there’s more than one, but we’ll error on the side of caution. Whoever that guy is should be playing, end of conversation. If I have to watch Pat taken off the field on a cart because of the stupidity we’re witnessing, Reid looses his immunity as far as I’m concerned. He is playing with fire right now, and he’s going to burn himself. [Reply]
