I watched the first 10 or 15 minutes. after the first scene of Galadriel and her bro, it was all action. and it was pretty boring. I've seen video game cut scenes that had more weight to them. gravity seems to come and go in Middle Earth. there's no tension anywhere.

That's Galadrial, an elf (and apparently a pretty serious warrior in this show judging by the first episode). Still though, I'm pretty sure elves in LOTR aren't supposed to have super strength. She was throwing those guys around like she was a Vulcan. It did take me briefly out of the episode.

Watched the first one. I found it to be dull, the dialog was silly and overly flowery to the point of being corny at times. I don't find the actors playing Galadriel or Elrond convincing at all, so far.

Hopefully the pacing improves and it generates some sort of... interest. Nothing really happened in the episode.

I've not read The Silmarillion nor am I a massive diehard fan of Tolkien's worldbuilding or his works. That said, this seems to be an awful telling of his world and vision of it (so far), but if you can remove your point of view from feeling like the show SHOULD be that, it's a pretty good fantasy show.

I was actually coming in to post about this very scene as an example of just how ridiculously terrible this character is. The fact she takes out four men is bad enough but then they can’t even be bothered to show how she did it because even they know how implausible it is and would just come off as even worst if they tried to show it.
