What if Veach were Denver's GM? He would have drafted Justin Fields. 100 times out of 100.

Instead, your idiot GM in charge took his FRANCHIZE CORNER!!!!!1111 and said, "There! That will fix the problem! Super Bowl here we come!"

Why would we care about the number of snaps again?

The fact remains that KC's ones dominated other teams' ones while Denver's ones gave up yardage to LA's backups.

Elway and any other GM out there would have given up entirely and attempted to trade Chris Jones. The Chiefs kept him and every other important player to that Super Bowl team except for Fuller (who was shown to be easily replaceable and perhaps even upgraded by Veach's killer 4th round selection of L'jarius Sneed)

And I haven't even brought up the beautiful work of art that is Patrick Mahomes' contract extension. Something so complicated and layered and beneficial to the team that the NFL has never seen before.

Something tells me if George Paton were our GM during these years, we'd be looking at already doling out the mega millions to Mahomes while unable to fill in gaps through the draft because we were drafting in the back ends of the rounds. Chris Jones wouldn't be a Chief, we'd still be in cap trouble, and as a result, our defense would be looking pretty fucking weak. And don't get me started on how Paton would have chosen to help fix the OL with injuries to both bookends. He probably would have just gone the conventional route and gradually built up through the draft, attempting to fix with a toothpick that which needed a sledgehammer. Very likely he'd take a Chargers approach, waiting for a bad injury to collapse his team's season so he could get a top 10 draft pick for a season or two in order to fill in those holes that he couldn't fill without top 10 picks.

Don't get me wrong, without those hypothetical injuries we'd still be competitive because we have Mahomes, but we'd be a Seattle-type competitive. Look great against weak teams, get our shit pushed in by tough teams because our defense just sucks too much and our OL still wouldn't be fixed.

That's the difference between Veach and Paton. Veach innovates. He thinks outside the box. And he fixes problems that need fixing in a single offseason. Paton looks at a problem on the team and goes, "Well... we have to do this responsibly, now, so let's just not make any sudden moves and hope for the best in the draft. We've at least got some cap space, so I suppose let's blow a chunk of it on Teddy fucking Bridgewater for awhile..."
Believe it or not, Knowmo is dumb enough to think the Mahomes contract is bad for the Chiefs.

So every decent team that drafts a good QB vaults to #1 on that list for the next 5 years? Nevermind that Mahomes didn't even play in a bunch of those games.

Veach is the reason that the Chiefs have Mahomes and has killed it as a GM with exception of his first draft. You'd think that the fan of an organization which has done everything wrong in that span would be able to recognize this. :-)

If some D coordinators don't have game film to study. They're clueless.

"George, we don't really have a QB yet, and Fields seems about as good as we're going to get for awhile unless we acquire a top 10 pick. And the Packers already told us to fuck off with our KJ Hamler-for-Aaron Rodgers deal. Maybe we should just draft Justin Fields..."

Paton: "CORNERS! THE KEY TO SUCCESS IN THE NFL IS CORNERS! WE'LL BEAT TEAMS WITH CORNERS!!!"

Chief Fan seemed to really like Quinn Meinerz before the draft. Someone want to explain what people see in this guy?

Knowshit pimping preseason games that his team never faced other teams number one offense. Pathetic, and hilarious at the same time. Enjoy your undefeated August, Patrick has NEVER lost a September game in the NFL ( you remember September right? When teams wins actually count against the season). Glad you at least got some semblance of preseason hope, cuz when it counts your team will be back the the basement.

When you're in a window and are willing to sacrifice tomorrow for today you can get a lot of shit done. It's coming out roses right now because their premium players are all on backloaded deals. Chris Jones is only counting $8.5M on your cap this year and is due to count $29.4M next year. Pat Mahomes' cap charge is only $7.4M this year and is going to be $35.4M next year. Yes, the salary cap is going to go up two years from now, but when it does Mahomes won't be taking up 4% of it like he is now.

Teddy Bridgewater was due to make $20M this year and Paton managed to only be on the hook for $4M of it. The Panthers are paying Teddy significantly more this year than the Broncos are. Paton will be aggressive with Rodgers next offseason.

Denver's interior OL depth is crazy

Netane Muti was a monster against the Rams 💪💪💪

Damn..talk about sympathy scheduling. They gave the Doinks games against the two worst teams back-to-back...3-29 was their combined record...and the 6-10 Giants.

9-39 is the record...of their first three opponents.

I guess the NFL didn't want the Donks season the be over by mid-October....You guys might actually start 3-0/2-1...then lose the next 5. It'll be entertaining to watch the implosion once reality sets in.

Can’t wait to watch Chris Jones blow through that line, and knock Brokewater out, and then watching Lockweiler get destroyed by KC again. Bolles is a small LT, and is gonna get your stable of qbs killed this season. Also not sure how it’s possible, but your qb evaluation skills are worse than Failway, and that’s an incredible feat. 2 of their first 3 games will be against rookie QBs...who's teams went 3-29 last year and have new coaches. :-)

That has to be the easiest first 3 games to start a season in NFL history...at least close.

It's going to be fun watching blowmo come in here bragging how his :-) are back baby, only to have him float away like a fart in the breeze when they're 3-6 at the halfway mark :-)
