Nzoner's Game Room>I can't believe this team passed on Derek Carr
RunKC 10:13 AM 12-08-2014
It's Raiders week and I really don't care about them that much. I hate their fans. I hate their stadium. I hate everything about them. But I'm jealous. I'm jealous of the Raiders for the second time in my entire life. The first was with Rich Gannon, who we threw away. We know the story and what they went on to do.

But this week I'm jealous of them for the second time in my life.
I can't believe that John Dorsey passed on a QB that reminds me a lot of what makes Aaron Rodgers good. Great arm. Great leadership. Great feet. Just needs coaching.

I'm looking back at the Senior Bowl last year and am seeing the following statements about this young man:

"Derek carr's velocity, especially in the gusty wind, was once again impressive. When it comes to arm strength, he really has no competition."

"Carr looked very athletic in an escape drill showcasing his impression footwork."

I saw tweets like this that made me appreciate him

@nfldraftscout: Derek Carr won me over at the Senior Bowl...where he stayed after practice every day to get extra reps with new WRs.

@ryanlownes: @JimmyKempski Ran routes for Derek Carr after practice every day at the Senior Bowl. No shortage of work ethic or competitiveness.

And then I remember us this tweet on the day of the draft:

@KanCityChiefFan: Mort: Kansas City Chiefs are a sleeper QB team in 2014 NFL Draft - Arrowhead Pride (blog) http://t.co/Pn0XVl203s

I thought this regime would be different. I really did. I didn't mind Alex as a stop gap while we developed a guy like GB did with Rodgers, but it's always the same with this franchise.

Now we have to watch the team we all hate with a good looking QB of the future that we should have drafted.
Such is life as a Chiefs fan..

I root for the Chiefs like Denethor was rooting for his son Faramir at the battle of Osgiliad.

TOP FIVE NFL QBS UNDER PRESSURE THIS SEASON

4. Derek Carr, Oakland Raiders

A strong running game and offensive-line play have put Derek Carr under pressure on just 25 percent of his 280 dropbacks this season, the third-lowest rate in the NFL. When he has been required to play under pressure, Carr has done so effectively, with a 75.0 adjusted completion percentage (third-best) and a 86.0 passer rating that ranks fifth in the NFL at the moment. He’s been sacked under pressure just seven times, good for the second-lowest sack percentage in the league, and repeatedly shows an uncanny ability to get the ball out to receivers accurately when things get chaotic in the pocket.

With the pass protection and playmakers the Raiders have on the outside to go along with some of the better passing schemes, if Carr can stay consistent under pressure, this offense will continue to be a nightmare to stop.

Why? because you are so invested in "being right" +/or too chicken-shit to hand over the slightest ounce of faith in the team to get hot when it most counts.

Just pathetic. Talk about bandwagonners. Only willing to jump on when YOU feel sure the team will go the distance. Well this team CAN go the distance. Be hella easier if JMac, Houston, and others can be healthy this time.. but c an still go the distance.

" but I don't want to believe!!! so instead of just ****ing off, I'll stick around and try to make everyone else feel as miserable and hopeless as I do!!!! "

multi-banned members at that... awful, awful "fans"...
You're a guy who was a "fan" of a team. Then you left them when they decided to get rid of your favorite player.

Why are lifelong fans like Clay and SDH who have spent thousands on their favorite team in game attendance, traveling, and merchandise not considered "fans," but you supposedly are this great "fan" as a guy who betrayed his former team based on ONE single personnel move they made?

What's going to stop you from doing the same thing to the Chiefs in the future? Do you know why people call you a fake fan around here? Because people don't choose to be fans. Their favorite team reaches out and grabs them by the ballsack, and they're FORCED to be fans of that team. You never had that with the Niners, and your reason for leaving the Niners is the same reason you became a Chiefs fan.

And quite honestly, every time you deliver an opinion on the Chiefs, it stinks. It smells fishy, like a rival fan is making observations of a team they're aware of and pay attention to but hardly root for. It just feels that way. Like you have no loyalty to any of the players except for your butt boy Alex.

You're not a Chiefs fan. Maybe you're a football fan, but you're not a Chiefs fan. And you're one of the LAST people on this forum who should be criticizing other fans. Clay and SDH have never betrayed their team. You have.

You're a drooling retard if you actually believe the slop that pours from your **** mouth.

Let's for a moment go with your theory.. that I am no Chiefs fan, and only here for my boo, Alex.

If this is true, I am still a better Chiefs fan than those two douchebags.

why?

Because I am in full support of the Chiefs winning games, of which I miss not a snap of.

Both Claynus and SDH do not want the Chiefs to succeed. Not only has one if not both claimed to have turned their back on this team... they do both actively hope that the team fails.

Take a moment to process this. IF what you say is true.. which it is not.. but IF...

- I want the Chiefs to succeed... only because Alex is the starting QB.
- They want the Chiefs to fail... only because Alex is the starting QB.

This in itself.. makes me a better fan.

.... oh but that's not all, folks. Not only do they want the Chiefs to fail.. they don't just sit quietly and leave it at that. Oh no.. they have to fill the board with daily negativity about the Chiefs. One of them even posts with glee and gifs as and after they fail.

To make it even more wickedly wretched.. there are people like YOU who defend these cock-gobblers as they take a piss on "your" team.

Your theory could have had some chance of truth in it 4 years ago. I see that. I did come to the Chiefs as an Alex fan that was willing to see if the team would grow on me. It did. In a huge way.

How could anything stop me, if this is what I wanted? It's called FREE WILL. We all have it.

This has to be the at the top of any stupidity list. Are you 12 years old? How can you be such a mindless drone to believe this? Forced to be a fan? why on Earth would anyone be forced to be a fan? :-)

They are in the same warehouse that you can find awards for:

- the "I've been a fan my whole life, so you shut up, if you don't agree with my hopelessness!" award.

- the "you MIGHT not even stick around for 80 years to support my team, so all your support now is invalid!" award.

- the "my daddy forced me to be a Chiefs fan at an impressionable age, and his daddy before him! This makes me the bestest truest fan evar" award.

- the "you talk bad about my butt-buddy friends on here, and I am angry!" award.

- the "I'd rather defend people that gleefully shit on my team everyday!" award.

Most of these clowns only care about fantasy stats. Actual football takes are a joke.
