The BigXII shot itself in the foot yesterday with the round-robin setup. 4 of the 5 P5 conferences have a championship game. The higher seed in each of those games got into the playoffs...whether those are the 4 top teams or not. I don't think FSU or OSU are a top 4 team...but that's for another thread.
The Big12 is going to be relying on the lower seed to win one of these championship games from her on out if they choose not to have a B12 CCG. IMO, that isn't a good way to get your conference represented in the playoffs...
The round-robin is cute...but until they expand to 8 teams. The B12 could find themselves in this situation more often than Not.
The Baylor vs KSU was the championship argument is flawed as is the B12 could have had 2 teams in the playoffs...
So....to get the B12 back to....12 teams, what two teams would you add?

Growing reality is the Ducks and Huskies have to 1) make it work in the #Pac12 or 2) join the Big 12.
My guess: 1) is their preference

Well yeah, but the question is HOW do they do that? Their TV Contract is already dogshit WITH USC and UCLA. What sort of contract are they going to be able to accomplish without them? Also, the remaining 8 teams not named Oregon or Washington aren't going to just sit around and hope the Ducks and Huskies stay committed to the PAC, while knowing damn well they are just sitting idly by until the B1G comes calling.
The PAC is done. The B12 is going to make a run at them and force ASU, UA, Utah and CU to come to terms that Oregon and Washington are not their long-term friends. [Reply]

Its laughable to think the Big Ten is going to take its time with expansion. They are going to do all their expanding before its new TV deal. Make sense to get an answer from ND first, but they are not going to wait. If they don't move watch them add Washington, Oregon, Colorado, and Stanford. [Reply]

They are at 16, like the SEC. They really don’t need to expand unless ND is involved, otherwise they already would have added those others. If ND isn’t involved, they may wait until the ACC is open game. Probably end up with ND then, and can fall back whoever else they want/need. [Reply]
Unfortunately it’s not so. At least not yet. I still think the mountain four end up in the Big12. Fox and ESPN have exclusive negotiating rights for 30 days, then others can put in offers. They are projected to make less than the new Big12 currently, and if Oregon/Washington don’t want to sign a GoR it gives the others a reason to bounce. Might be the good part about the Big12 having an extra year of media rights. [Reply]
