He's the 2nd-best kicker in the league. Has been for years. That factors in clutch, kicks and experience in big games, being a weapon from 50+ and 60+, and even kickoffs too. Flaking out over a fluke season of struggling with XPs or whatever, F that.
Townsend is a beast too. We're so spoiled in areas of the team that are often overlooked, but we'd notice the difference if we had league-average play there. Last night's game would've been ugly with a kicker missing his shots. [Reply]

And he's got one trait that very few kickers have: no matter how good or bad a day he's had he nails the game winners. He could have missed an xp and two FG's that day but when he gets a chance for a 52 yard game winner he nails it right down the middle.

Butker is him
It was an incredible kick. Especially as winds tend to swirl more at either end of a stadium, and you can tell that Harrison was trying to drive the ball into the crosswind coming from the left, so even though the wind where the kick was placed was mostly coming from behind him, it was a really difficult kick at that distance. And I could be wrong, but it looked like that kick would've been good from 70, maybe even a little farther. [Reply]

Damned near every time.
No better example than 13 seconds. Butker had missed an XPA and a FG in that game that helped put us in the hot water we were in.
Patrick gets the team in range to tie, and there was no doubt on that kick. [Reply]
This feels like the kind of season where we can't afford to miss XP's and FGs in games, especially in the second half of the season. Good to see the operation in good order. [Reply]
