So there's an article on NFL network saying that Orlando Brown is expected to sign for 6 years $145 mil.
That comes to $24.16 mil/yr and makes him the highest paid offensive lineman in football. It also would give him the 19th highest salary per year in the NFL
How would you feel if that is the contract he ended up signing?
I'm fine with it. He is a top 5 LT and he's only 26 next season. A young great LT is a guy you can't let leave. [Reply]
:-) Yeah, let's go ahead and nip the percentage argument in the bud. Wylie typically draws the tougher assignment on a week by week basis yet has allowed fewer pressures. That's fucking pathetic. [Reply]
Really hope they let Brown walk this offseason. He just doesn't fit this offense. I wouldn't even feel all that pressured to move up in the draft for a LT as I'm fine starting Thuney at LT and Allegretti at LG next year.
Let Brown walk
Thuney to LT
Allegretti to LG
move up in the draft for a DE
DT in the 2nd round

I’m at the point where you look for new options. You just have to bc he is playing so poorly. I’m terrified of who will replace him but at least they’d be cheap ya know?
I wouldn’t tag him. You’re not getting anything of value for him.
Look for options to trade for someone. Also sign Andre Dillard for cheap so you at least have someone on the roster that is capable of starting. And then draft someone in rd 1 who can at worst play RT, maybe LT in the future like we did with Fisher.
At least that way we have a shit load of money freed up to give Chris Jones and to use on players to make this defense better.
We can’t spend money on this guy. Not even the tag. He’s nowhere near worth it. Call it a loss. No shame in that if you are not paying the guy big money [Reply]
Ravens knew what they were doing when they dumped Orlando on the Chiefs, just like Pete Carroll knew what he was doing when he dumped Frank Clark on the Chiefs. [Reply]
