Nzoner's Game Room>Frank Clark fucking sucks
RealSNR 02:33 PM 09-15-2019
Guy has done NOTHING in two games. Barely any pressures to speak of against trash OTs.

Yeah, I'm in bitchy gameday mode. Don't care. I'm tired of paying out the ass for defensive players who don't make plays.

At least Justin Houston could dominate against bad teams after we paid him.

I wonder how Clark would have done against an injured Fisher yesterday?

The resistible force vs. the movable object.

Would love to have someone at LT who isn't a giant candyass.

Too bad the Chiefs didn't re-sign Ogbah back.

Frank will be the defensive version of Sammy Watkins.

When you’re as good as the Chiefs are, the season really doesn’t start until week 18
It would still be pricey to get out of his contract after next year ($12.9m cap hit). Not out of the question, but it's not an easy out.

It’s always the explanation with Frank.

If they designate him as a post-June 1 cut, he'll count $6.5M against the 2021 and 2022 caps. But he'll save them an instant $20M.

Yeah, not sure where my brain picked up $16.5m rather than $12.9m. So yeah, you can spread it across two years if needed. Still not ideal, but if comes down to it, it's an option.

I'm getting tired of the "hurt" excuse with Clark.

The whole reason to bring him in was because the guys we had couldn't stay healthy. He was supposed to be steady, if not spectacular, and he's been neither.

If he's hurt this much, he's not worth much. I'd look to move on.

Take a look at the link DaFace provided. You'd be cutting him after 2021, not after this season.

Yeah I was deleting it as you were quoting it. I read it wrong.

Every time I look at Spotrac, I'm dumbfounded that we still have $8m in dead cap for Berry. :-)

Knee. I never even heard he was hurt until Spags mentioned it.

Knee, thank you.

We know from last season that Frank plays hurt. Last season it was his neck, and we didn't hear about it until more than halfway through the season. But other than sitting out part of the second half of the Colts game last year and another game for his stomach(?), he played, and never said a word about his neck.

Contrast that with Dee and Houston taking vacations for a small pile of nagging injuries during their time in KC.

Availability is a primary characteristic that separates good from great. Eric Berry being an easy example. He was great when he was on the field, but towards the end he just wasn't available enough.

Frank isn't playing great, but he's been available every week (except 1?), and he holds down his side of the line. Hell, teams don't really try to run to his side much anymore. They don't even try to throw screens to his side very much if he's out there. Just being on the field essentially shuts down a box of the field from about 3 yards into the backfield out to the sideline and upfield about 7 yards.

If his knee gets better, he'll be a force once again in the playoffs.

And this thread will be a laughingstock over the offseason once again.
