So there's an article on NFL network saying that Orlando Brown is expected to sign for 6 years $145 mil.
That comes to $24.16 mil/yr and makes him the highest paid offensive lineman in football. It also would give him the 19th highest salary per year in the NFL
How would you feel if that is the contract he ended up signing?
I'm fine with it. He is a top 5 LT and he's only 26 next season. A young great LT is a guy you can't let leave. [Reply]

He was the best OL last night
Creed had one of his tougher games to my eyes. And Thuney had some rough beats.
But in the first half when they kept getting to Mahomes, a lot of that felt like really good coverage that forced Mahomes eyes to wander a bit and threw timing off.
I didn't feel like the OL was getting smoked - just that the plays were dead sooner than normal. [Reply]
Mack was on a bit of a tear before last night, with 5 sacks in 6 games, or something like that.
I don't recall hearing his name but maybe one time last night. Nice job by the Ts in that game. Still gave up more pressures than I'd like, and Pat was running out of the pocket more than a few times, but overall it looked like a pretty good game for the OL. And i think a ot of that pressure came from the middle of the OL? That shouldn't have been the case, but I was kind of feeling the scotch so i could be wrong. [Reply]

If they decide to let him go, I'm all for it. But again, if he plays like he's been playing the last few weeks the rest of the season, I'd offer him the same deal he was offered last season and he can take it or leave it.
The deal was structured in a way where we could cut him for performance and not be tied up to long term money. So he's have to continue to play well for us to keep him long-term. [Reply]
It’s an interesting situation because they obviously learned OL is a priority after the 2020 season so available options may be enough to get OBJ paid.
You don’t let him walk unless you have a plan and they offered big money to Williams and decent money to OBJ so they are willing to pay to an extent. [Reply]
I have been as critical as anyone, and OBJ had a pretty good game last night. He was mauling dudes on those outside runs, and held his own against Mack, who is a tough draw. [Reply]

Well OK, but if he finishes the season strong, he would almost certainly turn down a deal where he could easily be cut for performance.
So I would consider that a PR stunt non-offer.
But who knows, maybe second times a charm... [Reply]
