@ClintScoles: Daniel Lynch 2.1 IP 8 H 8 ER 3 BB 2 K 2 HR - don't know if he's still fighting a blister issue but he probably needs a reset at AA. 6.38 ERA at AAA - 48 ER in 56 innings total

Does this team not have enough actual problems? Do we have to invent problems that aren't real? Go back and look at the replay immediately when the ball goes over the fence. Players are pumping fists and yelling and celebrating. Taking a screenshot a few seconds later of some random guys in the dugout who aren't all completely giddy and pretending that's a problem is ridiculous. This myth that they don't care is played out and downright inaccurate. They may suck, but that doesn't mean they don't care about winning. [Reply]

Brentz last pitched on July 3. He threw 8 pitches tonight.
Barlow pitched the day before, but then not since July 3.
How much rest do they need between pitching for 1 inning? [Reply]

I know it has been frustrating to go from unexpectedly having the best record in baseball after a month to one of the worst records so quickly, but this is stupid.
It's because of the pitching coach and relief pitchers are "gassed" because they pitched two innings in a week...and now based on a still image they aren't excited enough and don't care...JFC... [Reply]

Barlow's the one you need to worry about the most. He pitched 70 innings 3 years ago, led the league in appearances last year and is on pace for almost 80 innings this year which is a lot for a reliever. These last couple games could just be a rough patch or something more, we'll find out soon enough.
Either way there's just going to be a microscope on Matheny about things like that because of how he ended in St. Louis. Rough bullpen management, overworking guys and grinding the team down, losing the clubhouse, not speaking to players, etc. Just part of the deal until he proves otherwise. [Reply]

I might have broke him, going to the game in springfield where he was pulled in the second inning (i think)
With still one more game to go, the Royals ensure they will finish April with a .600+ record. Since 2000, 85% of teams with a .600+ April finished with a winning record. Teams with a .600+ April averaged 90 wins.

You’d hope that his recent time off plus the ASB would be enough. He’s hung up near a 7 ERA though in his last 7 outings and has not looked right for a while. You just hope he won’t need DL time after being used into the ground to start the season. He’s approaching the most innings he’s ever pitched in a single season since getting into the minors, so it’s probably something that’s worth keeping an eye on. [Reply]

Here's a couple seconds earlier, when the actual home run happened. Is this enough emotion to satisfy you?
