About to hit the 5000 post mark on the old thread, the first season 7 trailer today seems like the right time to start the final Game of Thones thread.
I'm going back to the original rules pre-2015. I don't think we need supervision or bannings. Just don't be a dick. Post anything you find online that hasn't aired yet inside of spoiler tags. That's pretty much it. I think we can all handle that...
In rewatching the Arya/Melisandre scene, they do foreshadow the fact that Arya will kill the Night King. I probably should have picked up on that, but was so lost in watching it that I didn't.
I also commented on Bran's warging a bit ago - I wonder if he wasn't controlling, or at least somehow guiding, Arya's actions? And maybe the actions of other key combatants. [Reply]

OK..I'm going to direct that last scene...because it was god awful.
Night king approaches 3-eye....Neutered boy lights a circle of fire around the sacred tree....which illuminates 10,000 ravens in the trees staring back at the dead. 3rd eye lifts his finger and all the ravens eyes turn red...and attack the leaders of the dead. Aria pulls off her "blue eyed" mask and stabs the night king.
There you have it...cheesy ending avoided.. [Reply]

I started wondering about that immediately. It looked more like he was dispelled or banished. I'll have to go back and look at the lore to get an idea of what happened. But what was Bran doing in the wheelchair up until the NK showed up? I don't recall anything in their plan about him worging off for so long. I didn't see any explanation during the episode. Maybe he took over the NK's guys to help cover the surprise attack by Arya? I have no idea. [Reply]
Apparently Aria can just "ninja from the stars" and defeat the biggest adversary in this whole ****ing show. It insulted my effort of watching it for 10 years.
Did she just hang-glide from the dungeon...and above the 50,000 dead that were killing everyone in sight. SO ****ing stupid..it was embarrassing... like 80's action hero stupid. [Reply]

It was well done for what it was, but I was expecting something...more interesting.
I was about 30% disappointed since I only made out that much of the dark behind episode. Dany couldnt even give him a kiss on the lips before he died. I refuse to believe hammer boy survives. It takes a ton of stamina to swing a great hammer around. He'd be dead before they fell back to the gates. I mean they dont have source material so expect a bunch of nonsensical bs for the next 3 episodes. Im just watching at this point to get closure. Dont care what happens anymore now. [Reply]
I spent a large part of the episode wondering why Arya wasn't using the dagger in her belt. Of course she would likely have lost it had she pulled it and sooner. Bran was controlling the entire bunch waiting for that moment. [Reply]
Theory time: Night King isn't actually dead. He'll come back in the finale of Episode 6 and wipe out any remaining survivors surfing on his wall of wights. After he's done, he'll walk up and sit in the Iron Throne to see what all the fuss is about. He'll accidentally cut his ass on a Valyrian sword and explode again, this time permanently.
Luigi wins the War of the Five Kings by doing absolutely nothing. [Reply]
