When you're so bad at run defense you make it a legitimately good choice to run the ball at you consistently, that's pretty impressive(ly bad). https://t.co/hFnQIuLKqe
The #Chiefs are 3-4 and are:
32nd in turnovers
32nd in points allowed
32nd in yards allowed
32nd in yards per play allowed
31st in pass yards allowed
31st in receiving yards allowed
31st in rush yards allowed
32nd in 1st downs allowed [Reply]
Here's another crazy stat!!..in the last THREE second halfs the defense has allowed ONE scoring drive. Some fresh additions coupled some scheme tweaks and maybe they could be acceptable down the stretch.
Also, does anyone think missing Hitchens and his play calling was a factor for the first half today? Smh who knows. [Reply]

So the 32 DEFENSE is alive and well again in KC!!! [Reply]

Meh. One game was against the WFT and the other 2 games they had already given up so many points in the first half, the second half was spent keeping the Chiefs offense off the field. [Reply]

Listen man I get what you’re coming from but can u honestly look at this roster and come away thinking it doesn’t need a massive defensive overhaul? Any impactful players through trade are gonna cost high draft capital that we don’t have that much of to begin with. We have hardly any cap space after the Gordon signing as well. We need an infusion of cheap young talent on that side of the ball and probably a new coordinator too
And with any luck an NFL team hires EB so we get comp picks for him because we could use it.. [Reply]

Yes I agree the defense needs yo be ripped up in the offseason..but that doesn't mean with a few tweaks this defense can't improve enough for us to a make a run. Remember, as bad as they've been their offense has had FOURTEEN turnovers...how many defenses in the league could cope with that and do well? Plus key defenders have missed too many games. Clark, Jones and Gay have played around three games out of seven. Ward has barely played either and Juan for whatever reason has just started three games. Now Hitchens is out..the defense just hasn't had a chance to get into a flow together. [Reply]

The offense scored three points today against a team who's defense was basically depleted........

You’re already seeing some of the clips come out. Players giving on tackling, not just giving up, worse, not even attempting a tackle right in front of them.
Too many “business” decisions being made.
Spags has lost these guys. Maybe they gave up when Sorenson kept getting all the snaps over Thornhill. [Reply]

So literally the worst defense in the league.... [Reply]

Need Jarran Reed to keep this up. He was excellent in Vegas
If you didn't notice, the Chiefs' front four was doing work vs the Raiders, and for the first time in a long time, KC was able to get pressure without blitzing.
This game will tell us everything we need to know about the defense. Either they looked good against some average/poor OLs in the last 4 weeks, or they really are gelling at the right time. I still would like to see more speed and aggression from our DL and the fact that DAL OL is finally healthy will be a good test.
