Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]

Or the coaches should have just run a better play on 3rd down and then not been cowards on 4th down and let him go for it (which I imagine he would have been expecting) rather than giving a team four downs to get 50 yards for an automatic kicker. [Reply]

He just needs to learn from his Buccs game. Never ever look Hardman's way even if he is WIDE the fuck open. Hardman is only good at being a glorified running back when he can run at full speed parallel to the LoS as the ball is being snapped. I don't even care that Mahomes overthrew the shit out of that ball, just understand that rarely anything good comes from Hardman running a route. [Reply]

If Patrick's tendency is to go for the deep shot all the time, perhaps Andy should put the leash on him in that situation. Don't have a deep route on a critical 3rd and 3 play. Just have everyone running routes that are more in the short to intermediate zone (5-15 yard routes), where Mahomes is extremely accurate.
Meanwhile it looks like ESPN gave Mahomes a 61/100 for this game, lower than the Chargers & Colts games. Not sure if I agree with that grade. He had a lot of bad turnover worthy plays against the Chargers and he didn't make very many big time plays against the Colts. Not sure how he ended up above 70/100 for the Colts game. Against the Raiders he made a ton of big time plays to help drag the team out of a 17-0 deficit. It wasn't perfect, but I would have thought this Raiders game warranted better than a 61/100 grade...especially when the Chargers & Colts games were graded above that level.

This is all wrong.
The problem was the 2nd down run call. This is how we lose games, we take the ball out of Patrick's hands and then are surprised when a running back gets stuffed in the backfield.
My brother is a Raiders season ticket holder. He was texting me all game with with his Raider BS. When the Chiefs didn't kick the extra point and go up 8 I was nervous. I laughed my ass off when the Raiders went for two.
In that moment, I actually wanted the Raiders to convert because I had no doubt that the Chiefs could drive the field and take the lead. The concern was doing it too fast. When they missed it I told my bother the Raiders will have a chance to win this because Reid can't seal games like this. Reid will run the ball, we end up in some 3rd and 7 BS, and then don't convert.
and like clockwork that's exactly how it played out. We are just damn lucky Adams was out of bounds. [Reply]
I swear to god, some of these people wouldn't be able to find their asses with both hands in their back pockets.
Dafuq are you talking about, 'a star is born'? Yeah, the MVP, SB MVP and steady immolation of the record books didn't do it. Nah, it took his 12th comeback from double digits in fewer than 70 starts (good lord, nearly 20% of the games he starts are games he wins when down 10+ points) to figure this out.
