It seems to me that Hill's lawyer had a good point when she kept eluding to the fact that Crystal didn't leave, but instead came back in. IMO, if she really felt like her life/well being... or the babies life/well being... was in danger she would have left. Pants or no pants. She did say she had a long shirt on. Not sure where/when she put that on, as I don't recall reading that... just that he had torn the tee-shirt off.

Hell, maybe he tore it off when they had sex, and she put on the long shirt after that?!?!

If you read the transcript, she had it on when he came back from the shower. It stayed on until she went back in to get the rest of her stuff and the she reported the attack occurred (when it was then ripped and torn off).

The attorney did try to raise the point of why she wouldn’t leave, but her testimony made it pretty clear it was because she didn’t have pants on and had other things.

Espinal states she wasn’t afraid until she entered from the hallway to get the rest of her stuff.

Is it possible. Sure. More easily believed because of recent inconsistencies and potential lies. Yeah. But just because someone is seeing a psychologist doesn’t mean they are self-harming. Smart move by Hill’s attorney, though.
