Nzoner's Game Room>Orlando Brown Projected Contract 6 year $145 mil
dlphg9 08:17 PM 03-28-2022
So there's an article on NFL network saying that Orlando Brown is expected to sign for 6 years $145 mil.

That comes to $24.16 mil/yr and makes him the highest paid offensive lineman in football. It also would give him the 19th highest salary per year in the NFL

How would you feel if that is the contract he ended up signing?

I'm fine with it. He is a top 5 LT and he's only 26 next season. A young great LT is a guy you can't let leave.

Hell, there are teams he'd probably excel on. Maybe our old pal Ballard finally does something besides trading major assets for washed up shit at QB and signs Brown Jr to road grade for Taylor and co a couple dozen times a game. That's a great little spot for him.

He could always go back to Baltimore since Stanley seems to be a brokedick.

Somebody is going to pay him to play LT. It will probably be $20M per or more.

You're wrong.

There just aren't many of those guys walking around the earth. He's gonna get paid and play LT somewhere.
Especially with so many teams who are looking to answer these fast defenses with more powerful approaches on offense.

He doesn't fit terribly well here - that doesn't mean he's not a fit elsewhere. He will eventually get signed to a substantial contract somewhere that fits his skill set better and he'll be an above average LT for a number of years.

People have lost their minds on this one.

Someone is going to pay him, but not as much as he'd have earned if he hit the market last year.

Probably not.

But primacy and recency is a thing. Teams will remember how he finished the season far more than how he started it.

If he performs well even as late as November/December and into the post-season -- hell, even if he doesn't but the Chiefs do -- he's gonna recapture most if not all of his previous market value.

It's silly, but it's true - IMO.

Wow. That's pretty laughable that he's actually gotten more pressures assigned to him than Wylie. I knew they were both shit but figured Wylie would be the highest given his replacement level status. For fucking shame, OBJ

As opposed to the player giving up 4-5 pressures a game
