It’s not really cut and dry they will commit to him, but I agree it’s likely they extend him to lower the cap hit...I’ve advocated for that numerous times.

I just see moving on from Fisher to Silverback as a realistic option for a team wanting to get back to the Super Bowl.

If Mahomes is almost undefeated with Fisher at LT, he would be unstoppable with Silverback as his LT.

Williams might get $20M AAV on a 3-year deal, backloaded, and you'd be getting him in contract year ONE.

Williams will actually most likely be cheaper than Armstead for the 2021 season unless you give him a 3-year extension and then you're probably looking at similar money to Williams for a couple of years of age.

I think a tackle getting injured and Niang starting next season is inevitable anyway. But at least with Peters Niang could serve as depth. If he outright out plays Peters and Peters ain't down with being Swing, fuck it, cut his ass at the end of camp.
