As much as I loved Layne I don't think they lost much without him. Jerry is the heart and soul of that band and new singer with the fro is as good as Layne. Sorry if that's blashempy... it just is.

Jerry's fucking awesome with AIC, his (as far as I know) only solo album sucked overall.
I did like this from The Cable Guy soundtrack though:

I don't know Jerry away from AIC. I'll listen to your song though. As long as Jerry is still around AIC will kick ass. NO disrespect to Layne, he was great. [Reply]

That's pretty fucking good, not as good as Layne, but not the huge difference I was afraid it would be [Reply]
Not crazy about Jerry Cantrells song from the solo album BSTC. Haven't heard the rest of the album. Jerry was and still is the driving force behind AIC though and he made the post Layne stuff as great as the stuff with Layne. From what I understand Jerry is a bit of a slave-driver and very insistant on the AIC sound staying true. From the things I've read you're either part of the AIC sound or you aren't. He's very picky about everything. I for one am glad of that. [Reply]
I got some comments about the last Mars Volta video I put up, so here's another one.
and here's one of my favorite longer tracks from them
This band is (or at least was) cool as shit live. Last time I saw them in person, like 90 minutes passed by and they only played 3-4 tracks :-) [Reply]
