The #Jets and All-Pro DT Quinnen Williams agreed to terms on a four-year, $96 million megadeal — the largest second contract ever for a defensive tackle, sources say.

Williams gets $66 million in guarantees in the deal negotiated by @AgentNicoleLynn.

I think the benchmark for Chris has and still is around $25M/per. Like a previous poster said thank goodness the Jets didn't give Williams some stupid contract.

It really did not.

Dexter Lawrence: 21.9M AAV
Daron Payne: 22.5M AAV
Jeffery Simmons: 25.5M AAV
Williams: 24M AAV

With Jones already on record saying he wants to be #2 but doesn't expect to be in Donald's range, KC can now give him a long-term deal that's still a few mil cheaper than his 23 cap hit, but still separated from the next tier down.

People have been thinking all along that means a 25-27M AAV for Chris Jones, and this cements that as reasonable.

4/108 would be a pretty sweet contract for KC, especially if they're pushing $35M or so to Year 4.
