The GoT universe has warging, time travel, dragons, resurrection, ice zombies, smoke demons, etc.

Shapeshifting a bridge too far, though?
Actually yes. You establish the rules in your fictional universe, but then you kinda have to stick with them. We've never seen anything that leads us to believe the faceless men can change their body mass. [Reply]
I still wonder what the hell the point of the whole exchange was, then.
What's the end game? Get Arya alive back to Westeros and Jaqen dead? Seems like a lot of work for something that could've just been "Arya traveled north, Jaqen got on a boat to Essos and they never saw each other again....Fin".
There has to be more to it than that. Does it somehow put Arya in charge of the faceless men? At that point she could parse out who receives the gift a little more (and learn that decisions framed by a moral compass aren't always all they're cracked up to be).
Ugh...it's starting to go full Mereen over there; just so much time/paper wasted. This damn series should've been a trilogy. [Reply]

Spoiler!
It wasn’t Arya it was Jaqen wearing her face
1. Walked like Jaqen, wore hair parted down the middle, threw the coin with the right hand (Arya is left handed)
2. Was too obvious. Arya would have never asked for a cabin. The money was thrown around too casually, even if she was capable of stealing such a sum.
3. Lingering shot of statue on the bridge, maybe sorry to leave. Arya hasn’t been there that long, doesn’t have a particular fondness for the place. Could have stowed away as a cabin boy too easily
4. Jaqen’s life belongs to her. He promised her 3 lives to take for the Red God. He took 2, then she named him as her 3rd. Instead of dying he bargained and agreed to help her escape but then when he left he gave her the coin and told her to come to Braavos. And he gave her the words Valar Morghulis, all men must die. Knowing what we know about their relationship with death there would have been no bargain really. He believes in death
His life is owed to the Red God. No bargain can change his fate and he knows it. He willingly dies in Arya’s place, wearing her face, to fulfill the contract on his own life. He also was testing the Waif who did not fulfill the contract correctly by doing a belly wound instead of killing quickly. Waif is going to go out before he is gone officially. Scenes from next week show Waif running/ chasing possible real Arya.
that makes sense.:-) thanks for posting that find. [Reply]

errr...but....
Spoiler!
1. Isn't it Man of Many FACES, not bodies? He can shrink to half his size?
2. Don't you have to use a face that was collected? Arya's face hasn't been.
I like this theory, because I'd prefer to believe Arya would never be as stupid as she was, but I do have a couple probelms with it.
crap, I see my first concern was already posted. Sorry. [Reply]
That theory seems to make sense, in spite of the obvious questions. The Faceless Men are all about illusion and making people see what they want to see, and the Waif couldn't wait to get a hold of Arya....
Moving on to another question I have - Who did that letter Sansa write go to? We all assume it was Littlefinger, but was that really where it went? Why would she seal it with the Direwolf of House Stark if it were to him? I think she sent it to the Umbers or the Karstarks, possibly both. The seal means it's no joke that it's actually from Sansa Stark and she is calling upon those houses to rally to the aid of the surviving Stark heirs. The Umbers have no love of the Boltons. We saw Littlejohn call Ramsay and the Boltons cunts right to his face before he handed over Rickon. Plus, the letter was written right after Jon told Sansa there was no time to go to the Umbers or Karstarks. I think they, along with the armies of the Vale, are Sansa's ace in the hole for taking down the Boltons and whichever house stands with them. [Reply]
*PLUS - the way Arya strolled through the streets like she didn't have a care in the world after we saw her hiding in a small dark room clutching Needle. But really, it was her posture while walking. Straight back, one hand behind her back. That's not her gait. I think that theory might be on to something. [Reply]
