If he does what you're hoping he does, then his rate goes up 50%+ and you're bidding against other teams, while also trying to pay Tyreek.
Ultimately, here's what I like - dude catches the balls thrown to him, plays physical and (hopefully) can take some attention away from 10/87.
What I don't - (and likely why he was only given 1 year) who the fuck are we actually getting? Dude's career has been all over the place statistically - and you can't blame Ben when the other WR's there have produced.
I'm sure the usual suspects will try to twist this all up - but whatever. He's a warm body at a position of desperate need. If he plays like 2018 JJSS, he'll be a fan favorite but it's going to be a challenge to retain him. If he doesn't, we're only out $10M. Just a weird spot.
Honestly....Hill is probably getting his new contract. Don't know what the cost but I'd say the odds of him getting one are probably good.
What this does is allow us to draft a WR and not expect him to step in day one and light up the NFL. Juju is gone after this season and we replace him with the rookie. I would expect Hardman to be gone as well. [Reply]

Part of the reason I think 1 year is a mistake - man, Kelce can't play forever. I'm not saying they should have signed JJSS to a 6 year deal, but if you believe in the dude, control his rights for 2-3 years.
This team seriously needs to start transitioning from a TE-centric offense to a WR-centric offense, IMO. WR's typically take 3 years to break out, especially those drafted where we're picking in rounds.
We weren't drafting in a position to acquire a day-one WR starter anyway - JJSS doesn't change that. [Reply]

He’s a broke dick whose only available to play on average in like 10 games a season because he is constantly injured.
Also pretty sure the Chiefs don’t have a Myles Garrett-caliber pass rusher whose presence and command of constant multiple blockers helped inflate Clowney’s sack #’s.
What a load if garbage :-) the man got more sacks than Clark and Ingram COMBINED and this fool is calling him a "broke dick"?? Smh you're clueless :-) [Reply]

Juju might just want a one year deal. He wasn’t able to prove himself his last year. [Reply]

This is where I'm at. Everyone is pissed Veach didn't get something longer done but I'd say odds are high JuJu wasn't even interested in one. He came here because he knew it was his best shot of getting the stats needed to get a REAL payday. [Reply]
