Nzoner's Game Room>Orlando Brown Projected Contract 6 year $145 mil
dlphg9 08:17 PM 03-28-2022
So there's an article on NFL network saying that Orlando Brown is expected to sign for 6 years $145 mil.

That comes to $24.16 mil/yr and makes him the highest paid offensive lineman in football. It also would give him the 19th highest salary per year in the NFL

How would you feel if that is the contract he ended up signing?

I'm fine with it. He is a top 5 LT and he's only 26 next season. A young great LT is a guy you can't let leave.

Like RunKC said "He struggles with speed rushers" the dude is slow and there is no fix for that

I'm going to start CFF (Crow Football Focus) and here are my grades:

Week 1: 55%
Week 2: 50%
Week 3: 40%
Week 4: 55%

This is based on nothing in particular.

That’s one of the most amazing things about them. They draft really well but have almost nothing to show for it besides preseason SB trophies.

I know people will say "blah blah blah PFF sucks" but they do actually watch the snaps and have some incentive to do things objectively.

Orlando Brown Jr is currently ranked 22nd out of 37 tackles in run blocking, 34 out of 37 in pass blocking. He's tied for 3rd in overall pressures allowed at 13, and tied for 1st in overall qb hurries allowed at 9.

*Stats via Pro Failure Focus, min 80% 310 snaps.

OBJ's decision to turn down the money is going to go down in history with the guy who sold his 10% stake in Apple for $800.

I would like to see almost anyone else's analysis of OBJ's play in this game. Phil Simms, or Baldinger or any qualified OL analyst. Because those numbers don't seem to jibe with what the highlight reels show. Not at all.

Sucks. It doesn't take much for an LT to be listed as suck. His 4 sacks given up last year placed him tied for like 27. He isn't good at all.

This is my biggest argument whenever people say it's such a valuable position and we don't have any better options. The dude is literally terrible, what exactly is the problem if he leaves? Anyone we plug in isn't exactly going to have Willie Roaf's shoes to fill.

I'm willing to bet the farm we could be playing Prince Tega Wanogho or Geron Christian and getting the same production at this point for 1/8 the cost.

I watch him a lot.

It's not good.

He looks injured to me. Hopefully he can get healthy.

He has cost himself some money

I tend to agree (although he may be hurt, he wasn't this bad much of last year). It seems to me much of our offensive game-plan consists of attempting to scheme around the pass blocking weakness we have at OT, and I am not sure Brown isn't every bit the liability that Wylie is. It's not that he isn't elite, I don't even think the guy is good.

The funny thing is, I'd say those are fairly accurate.

Yep.

His play, combined with his contract demands, pretty much dictates he needs to go, replacement plan be damned. We won't have any trouble replacing him because he's just not that good.
