Apparently he wasn't even supposed to fire the gun. Just pull it out of the holster. So there was no reason to have blanks or anything in it. Crazy.

I wonder if they what kind of emergency medical capabilities they had and how long it took for the helicopter to come. Sounds like she bled out waiting. I guess the projectile hit an artery that could happen really fast.
This is all sounding really fucking bad for the armorer chick. Lawyers may be able to push it upstream if the production people are telling her to chug corners.

It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out, because there is obviously video evidence.

Sounds like dummy rounds and then blanks is a very bad combination and may have been what happened here.
Presuming the facts being reported are accurate, Maybe. But it’s kind of hard to believe that anything other than a manufactured bullet could go through someone’s center mass and then hit someone else. That’s a lot of force.

I guess it’s possible if there is a good seal inside the gun so gas doesn’t escape. But if what I’m reading is right that blanks are 1/2 loads that seems unlikely to produce enough power applied to a loose bullet in a chamber to go through someone’s torso and into someone else.

I’m no ballistics guy, but that seems weird. I don’t have another solution other than they were understaffed and used live ammo for a shot like changing a clip or something and then doing out a that gun as a “cold gun”. Just laying it out that doesn’t seem much more likely than the dummy/blank theory.

Either way there is an inexplicable amount of weird shit that had to happen to make this happen and ALOT of risk mitigation had to be bypassed.

The blank/dummy thing by itself.

How was chamber not cleared after the dummy round shot?
Why were blanks used in the same gun as the dummy?
Why were blanks loaded in the gun for the shot?
Why were blanks loaded in a weapon in which the chamber was not cleared?
Why did the chucklehead yell cold gun without checking verifying it was cold?
Why was the shot lined up in the line of fire even with a cold gun?
Why did Baldwin pull the trigger if the shot was to unholster the weapon?

Im sure there are inumerable other protocols breached between decision points but that is a massive amount of shit to go wrong in order for it to happen as described. And I’m sure there are industry regulations regarding machining of weapons with various type of ammunition. I mean OSHA won’t let a guy take a piss in a grain elevator bathroom without tying off his dick to fall protection. I find it hard to believe that there is no government oversight over fucking deadly weapons.

Bottom line is the number of safety protocols violated in this deal is incomprehensible. And I know nothing.

Nothing will happen to her. She will blame white men and Trump, write a book and make millions.

I still don’t see how Baldwin is majority responsible but given his age and experience it does sound like there is some negligence on his part if established protocols weren’t being followed, especially after issues with the prop had already occurred. This is of course assuming he is one of those in charge of the production with input on how things operate and not just an actor showing up to do a scene.

I liked a lot of the things he tried to do, but I spent much of the last two years of his presidency wishing he'd just shut the fuck up. He stumbled into GOTCHA! moments so often that it seemed like he was getting paid to do it. Had the guy not acted like such a buffoon the Baldwins of the world wouldn't have had such an easy time shredding him.

And ironically, despite a myriad of accusations by all the teeth-gnashing estrogen-spraying thumbs down liberal imbeciles who have whined about me throughout the course of this thread, this is the first time I've actually said anything about Trump one way or another. I don't watch SNL, haven't for decades, and don't give a shit about the parodies. I've seen only a handful of them in YouTube clips.

I don't like Baldwin because he's a nasty elitist jerk who treats people around him like shit, and that has nothing to do with Trump.

RIP to the lady who was killed.

Baldwin is a pompous ass but I can’t help but feel some sympathy for him. He has to be torturing himself over this. I don’t wish that on anyone.

:-)

Read that out loud and think about who you're comparing AB to.

Read it again, because I wasn't comparing them.

I really wish people would stop reading the shit in their own minds into my posts. :-)

I compare Alec Baldwin to X-Factor.

Very similar.

Like peas in the podcast.

It really is about her and her husband and child isn't it? She had an interesting and successful path to cinematography and from what I have read she was building a reputation; people wanted to work with her.

If you read the "gun people" posts in the thread you'd think that they all knew Baldwin personally or had and interacted with him in public enough to back up their claims.

I think you'll find the chain of command people, especially the armorer was responsible for that gun being handed to him "cold". There's 3 jobs on a set that can result in injury or death. Actor is not one of them.

So is an actor when told "cold gun" by the person in charge of the guns supposed to then break the gun down himself to make sure the armorer was doing their job?

What's next? A race car driver should break down their engines to make sure the engineers did their job?

I’m no Alec Baldwin fan but man oh man I can’t imagine the trauma him and everyone on set has bc of this.

When you see traumatic things like somebody dying, especially out of nowhere, that shit just does not go away.

They’ll remember this for the rest of their lives and have triggers similar to PTSD

I can't imagine a life lived without some kind of trauma. Thankfully, most of us are wired to move past it.

Nobody should ever take a gun on trust. You rack the slide to confirm for yourself. Seems like this incident would confirm that.
