It's a vision issue. Maybe a confidence issue. He struggles to read the line and find the holes.
He hasn't been a complete dud, he has a YPC at or above 4 in 8/15 career games.
Could also make the argument, though a small sample size, that it's a usage issue. He's only been given more than 20 carries in 2/15 career games - and in those games he's run for 299 yards and a 5.86 per carry average.

Definitely not someone worth a late first round pick.
You can find guys like him in the 4th/5th round.
Yeah, you can find guys like Trey Smith in the 6th.
If the staff likes a guy, they should take him. [Reply]

Two possibilities:
1. He was more effective, because he got more carries.
2. He got more carries, because he was more effective.
I think it’s option 2. No need to stick with the run at 3 yards a pop when you have Mahomes. No need to abandon the run when you’re averaging 6 yards per carry. [Reply]
The CEH hate is ridiculous. His vision is fine. There's one bad play everyone is pointing to, and casually ignoring the plays where he turns -2 yards into 5.
It's been two games, your averages mean jack shit.
He averaged 4.4 YPC behind last year's offensive line. You guys are being fucking stupid. [Reply]

Several of us noticed vision issues going back to last year. Its definitely an issue that's gotten worse.
And when has he turned -2 yard run into a 5 yard run? I've seen him turn 8+ yard runs into 3 yard runs at least 4 times this year. [Reply]

I'm guessing he's referencing CEH's ability to move the pile - which is actually pretty impressive for a guy his size.
But typically that's once he's gained a little steam and crossed the LOS. Having a hard time thinking of examples where he's been elusive and creating something out of nothing. [Reply]

It’s fine to take that approach but you need to get it right. Just because we’ve found some gems in later rounds (that should be the expectation if we want to build a dynasty and win 2-3 more Super Bowls with Pat), doesn’t excuse whiffing on early rounds. [Reply]
Tyreek used to be a running back. We should consider inserting him for more plays like this on games like last week where teams are doubling him every play. [Reply]

Let's not get Tyreek smashed because we didn't have enough sense to draft a real RB instead of a Smurf. [Reply]
