That’s $4.25 million only if he hits his incentives, I’m guessing it will end up costing the Cardinals less than that. You figure that with the Chiefs almost guaranteed to get a lot of postseason $$$, it’s puzzling that Zay Jones wouldn’t have taken a lower offer by the Chiefs, unless it was just too low as IowaHawkeyeChief mentioned in his post. Jones’s injuries last year probably were the major factor in not offering him more $$$, that’s just my guess. [Reply]

More likely to hit incentives over a full season with the Cardinals than as the #3 WR here to start the season (4th option overall) and then #4WR when Rice is back (5th option) [Reply]

Just looking at their depth chart, he's bound to get more touches in ARI than in KC, which would directly impact his potential earnings. Just guessing that might've had something to do with it. Also, in KC he'd have to learn a much larger/more complex playbook, and he'd be required to run-block a lot. And iirc he isn't a consistent run-blocker. [Reply]
