I know this was a tough game to watch as a Chiefs fan if you don’t believe me go back and read this thread. But in the back of all our minds we knew that Mahomes and company could come back and win this.
Look at this as a learning point for the team to learn from.
Also we heard all week that the Chiefs were going against one of the best defense in the NFL so let’s be proud we won this. [Reply]
First game of the season. Cleveland has two of the top 7/8? RB’s in the entire league. They used that to squeeze the clock in the first quarter. That allows mayfield to to be a PA pass QB and be successful.
And they spent their entire draft and FA on players in order to achieve one thing: Win this game. Today and in January.
They didn’t go for two at the start because of percentages. They did it because they wanted to put as many points on the board as possible so they could run Chubb/Khunt in the 4th quarter to squeeze the life outta the game.
Was setting up as a classic Browns/Marty 2nd half. But they made one too many mistakes. And when forced to put it in Mayfields hands, he’s not what the world wants him to be. He’s not a rival to PMII. He’s a good QB with two great RB’s.
That’s good enough to win. It’s not good enough to beat the Chiefs. Yet. [Reply]
Mahomes said that last sandwich sack was on him. He drifted back a little too far and didn't step up in time. Patrick was really happy with his OL today.
Hats off to CLE, fellas. I mean really. They're going to win a bunch of games this year. [Reply]
Cleveland's offense is legit. Their defense though didn't look any better than last year. They offered little meaningful resistance to the Chiefs. [Reply]

Their offense reminds me of the Aikman Cowboys. Run it behind a top OL, QB just finds the open guys, doesn't do stupid shit and you'll win. [Reply]
I was working on my house projects today while watching the game...not normal for me on opening day but we HAVE to get this shit done. So...I made a few bad cuts and measurements on the trim while watching the first 3 quarters. But I never felt like we WOULD lose, I felt like we COULD. Browns are legit, especially their running game. I also felt like we still have some work to do gelling on the OLine and having HB out did make a difference. But at the end of it, once the tide started to turn, I knew we were good even when we gave them the ball back with 3 minutes in the game. I just knew the D would get it done.
This team knows how to win. The are smart, disciplined and opportunistic on defense, and absolutely loaded on offense. We had some glorious boring long 7 minute drives in this game...not normal Chiefs football but necessary and it was great to see that we could do that.
We're only gonna get better. SB bound bitches!! GO CHIEFS! (I've also had a couple of really good whiskeys tonight...) [Reply]
Great win. This game was like watching the 90s Chiefs; the really good running game, strong defense and good quarterback. They would win a lot of games until they came up against the team with the opportunistic defense and great quarterback. All it takes is a couple of mistakes and although it might feel like the Browns played better most of the game, they simply didn't make the plays when it mattered. [Reply]

Yeah, it was. The tackles got beat, but if he steps up, it's a TD. [Reply]
