To be fair - if your AGI was 150-170k last year and you are one of the lucky 30 million plus furloughed - you won’t be spending it. The reason you have a savings account for moments like this is because one is usually frugal with money. This would go into savings until this is over.

I can live 3-4 months off my savings with no income, but on unemployment- you bet your ass you cut out all the fat in your lifestyle to weather this out

Yeah my cottage internet sucks like 10mbps 90 bucks a month with a cap.
My cell phone is 115$ a month for Canada wide calling/texting and 10gig a month, sat Tv like 150$ a month for mostly basic stuff.

Not enough telecom competition to reduce prices.

Should have invested that sound bar money with them. Only thing better than a new sound bar is three new sound bars.

South Korea with 9 new cases yesterday, after being a hot spot weeks ago. Why?

They wear masks. Everywhere.

That is all we have to do. That's it. Then you guys can go back to work. Whatever you want to do. Mandate masks. This is effectively over. Annoying? Sure. Just masks until vaccine.

Not at all. I'm all for flattening the curve through mitigation efforts. I follow those effort, too.

Nothing's foolproof in this, except for completely cutting off contact with other humans.
IMHO, you should have used the word "whether" in place of that "if."

Married Couples whose AGI was greater $198,001 received zero.

If a Married couple whose AGI was greater than $150k needed $1,200 dollars in order to get by for 10 weeks, they have much bigger problems than the pandemic.

And that's the exact opposite reason for providing Stimulus money to those on the upper end of the spectrum. People that can spend the money, should spend the money.

Saving it does absolutely nothing for the economy and in the end, what's $1,200 to people who's AGI is greater than $150k?
It’s not quite that simple for married couples over 150k. The amount you received starting at $2400, was reduced by $5 for every $100 over 150k you made. A couple who made 155k would get $2150 so close to the maximum. A couple at 180k would receive $900 total which really further illustrates that they are likely going to nothing but spend that money on random things to help the economy.

No. Using 'whether' instead of 'if' would have made that sentence nonsensical.
