I'm not shocked they figured it out. I am shocked they have become the more physical, defensively stubborn team. Also been saying Schmid deserved more time all year.
Regardless of result the only thing I was worried about with this talented young group for the future was if they could handle playoff style hockey. I just hate the Rangers so much.
Good luck to the Avs. Took me 22 years to get over it but I'm finally there.
Yeah, pretty much my thoughts as well. Was worried about two things going into the playoffs -- the lack of experience and goaltending. The aggressive defense has definitely been a nice surprise. They mentioned it in the broadcast last night, everyone looks at speed as a great offensive weapon, but it's just as valuable on defense. [Reply]
A woman was found so intoxicated in Avalanche forward Valeri Nichushkin’s hotel room Saturday that a team doctor called for an ambulance to take her to a hospital, according to a Seattle Police Department report obtained Thursday by The Denver Post. https://t.co/Z6EHlGKWgR
Note that he's married, and this wasn't his wife. It's possible this isn't a legal situation as the Avs had said, but it's not exactly a good look. [Reply]

Yeah, and would really flip that divisional on its head... it goes from "even if the Leafs finally win a series, they'll just lose to their rival" to the Leafs having a pretty decent shot at the ECFs if they don't completely fuck it up again.
Of course, if the Lightning win the series, it's probably a lot less interesting. [Reply]
