In a departure from expectations this afternoon, Chiefs CB L’Jarius Sneed was on the field for some stretching and conditioning that would put him in the next stage of the concussion protocol, a very good sign for him.
Andy Reid is optimistic JuJu Smith-Schuster, who sustained a left knee injury Sunday, will be able to participate in the team's practices next week in Arizona.
"He's in the good place," Reid said. "The main thing is letting that thing calm down. We'll just see where it goes."
Reid was particularly optimistic that among the injured players Toney and JuJu would be able to play in the Super Bowl. On JuJu, Reid said, "He's in a good place."
Andy Reid said L’Jarius Snead, who spends most of his time covering teams #1 QB is in the concussion protocol. His status for the Super Bowl will be one to watch vs the #eagles
Chiefs LB Willie Gay is optimistic about playing in the Super Bowl despite hurting his shoulder Sunday vs. Cincinnati, per source. Early tests were encouraging.
.@adamteicher to @J810Anderson on how the #Chiefs feel about the chances of their injured players returning for the Super Bowl: "The Chiefs feel like everybody's got a chance, all those guys." Adds that it's doubtful that all of them would make it, but all should have a shot.
It sucks to have all these injuries at the same position. Reminding me already of the last SB against Tampa when the team was relatively healthy except for O-Line. Injuries seem easier to deal with when they're spread throughout the lineup. [Reply]

It’s not as bad as that offensive line situation.
If the Chiefs can get Toney and JuJu back at 75% each, combine that with MVS/Skyy/Watson and of course a healthy TE group and McKinnon/Pacheco in the screen game… Andy can still scheme it up with that. [Reply]

- Toney - Sprained ankle, did go through walk-throughs today, should be okay to play, but likely will not be 100%.
- MVS - Healthy, coming off a career game. Going to need that again.
- Watson - Was sick, will presumably be healthy. Highlights and lowlights this season.
- Skyy - Rookie, limited role this year. Will likely need to step up.
- Kemp - Core ST player, might have to have a role at WR.
Was this said or are you just speculating?
Because that ankle injury appeared to be very minor and he still has another week. [Reply]

My speculation - as we learned this last week, a sprain is a sprain and people heal differently. That said, he didn't finish the AFC Championship game, so it was bad enough for that to occur.
Also, factoring the way he plays, with ridiculous angles and cuts, if he can't do 100% of those things, he's likely not at 100%.
But yes - I am completely speculating. I hope he goes for 200 yards and 3 TDs. [Reply]

There are different kinds of sprains and varying degrees.
His wasn't a HAS and it seemed minor. I think he'll be pretty close to 100% by next week if he's already "close" like Andy says. [Reply]
