Honestly, I don't see the appeal of serving the Faceless God. Sure, they are training her to be a badass, but it sounds like they won't ever let her take out the people on her list. What's the point?
Yeah. The Faceless God thing is just kind of weird. But they did give some good insight when they said there's never been a noble servant of the faceless god. They're usually orphans and people without meaning or purpose in their lives, and serving the Faceless God becomes that purpose.
But I still agree that it's kind of a crap existence if you're this badass assassin who has no real ego/persona of their own... just a brainless tool of the marching orders from above. I mean, Jaqen seems like he's more than that, so maybe as they go up in the order, they're allowed more autonomy. [Reply]

Jaqen in this episode made it sound like the Faceless Men are basically just hired killers who aren't allowed to question why they are supposed to kill the people they are assigned to kill. I always thought there was a more mystical or religious nature to them, but in this show he just said the price was paid, so Arya has to kill the actress. He also threatened Arya by saying it would be her face in the hall of faces if she scewed this up.
I always liked Jaqen (and in the books it is not Jaqen himself who trains Arya so that hepls), but I am ready for Arya to ditch these assholes and get back to her list. And she needs to take that Waif bitch out before she goes. Let the Waif's face be the one that decorates the hall of faces! [Reply]

Seriously, okay Three Eyed Raven, I get it. The children of the forest, fine it's what they're protecting. Hodor... epic heroism and the saddest death since Oberyn, but Summer was unnecessary. I don't know why it would happen but there is nobody up there to save Bran and Meera, and is Meera going to outrun the whites draggin Bran all around? They're far as hell away from anything which the closest thing would be the Wall. They only way I can see them getting out of this is if Drogon show's up and fries some Whites because Meera is a Targaryen and Jon's twin sister. But even that wouldn't make sense for Drogon to fly all that way up north...

They're so damn ancillary to anything. They haven't really mattered in the entirety of Westeros. Yara (or Asha or whatever the !@#$ her name is) actually hit the nail on the head - Westeros doesn't give a rip about them except for when they happen to briefly appear, steal things and then go back home.
What purpose could they possibly serve? Obviously Euron isn't gonna pull this off. And I'm not sure how they could be all that handy against a zombie apocalypse. This whole storyline coming back into the series seems like little more than an attempt to continue the Theon Greyjoy character rehabilitation tour.
They should've just flayed Theon awhile ago and had the iron islands shrug and move along. [Reply]
