Kansas City is trading its first-round pick Thursday night, along with three other picks in the 2021 and 2022 drafts, to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for Pro Bowl OT Orlando Brown and one pick in the 2021 draft and another in 2022, per sources.
Simply not important enough. The worst thing teams can do is allocate resources to guys almost good enough. Mahomes, Kelce, Hill all import enough obviously. If we do anything its lock up Fenton, Sneed, Bolton, Gay, and/or Thornhill. Focus on giving contracts to young guys who may out perform said contract. [Reply]

I hear the Raiders are in the market for some FO help. I think you would fit right in. [Reply]

Fans always want to pay too many guys who are already on preexisting roster. Its just typical fan bias. They get illogically emotionally attached. [Reply]

The bigger question might be what does Mahomes think about Orlando? It is Patrick’s butt on the line. Veach & Reid should sit down with Mahomes and ask for honest feedback. I don’t think it’s a terrible idea to use the franchise tag with Orlando and see how things are working a year down the road. [Reply]

I'd let HB walk before Brown.
The cap is complex, always moving, and with the Chiefs drafting guys like 3/5s of the line on rookie contracts, they can afford to pay Brown. Too important of a position IMO, and the replacement cost (draft or FA) would be significant. [Reply]

Keeping Brown is all dependent on Mahomes' opinion and evaluation [Reply]

Not important enough?
LT is one of the 3-4 most important positions on an offense. It’s the most important on the OL. Only QB and WR1 are clearly more important.
If you have an above-average LT, you keep them unless you have an equal player waiting in the wings to replace them.
I’m not excited about the idea of making Brown the highest paid LT in football and hope it doesn’t come to that. But even if it does, I’m not going to get angry about it. [Reply]
