Nzoner's Game Room>****2018-2019 Official NBA Regular season thread****
dirk digler 05:23 PM 10-16-2018
Didn't see anybody starting this thread so I guess I will.

Anti climatic season starts tonight and my prediction is GS vs Boston in the NBA Finals.

First 2 Games tonight on TNT with Philly vs Boston and OKC vs GS. Westbrook is out tonight so that game will be a blowout most likely.

I don’t know how this is arguable.

He’s an explosive athlete that’s 7 feet tall. Without his athleticism he’s a poor mans dirk ?
Without his athleticism he is Dirk. Or do you think Dirk was athletic?

Athletic enough but once dirk lost a bit he fell off the cliff

If that’s what Durant is is that worth a max deal?

Dolan is a complete buffoon, but look at what the Lakers have done over the past few years:

1) Complete ownership debacle resulting in one sibling getting shitcanned for another

2) Hiring Magic Johnson to be a co-GM with an agent when Magic didn't even want to work. Said hiring leads to emails getting sent all over the office that end up getting cc'd where both executives are bitching at each other

3) Magic ends up quitting without notice or explanation on the last day of the season in a completely impromptu fashion, then gives an inane and insane interview to justify it

4) They botch multiple top five picks, and the best player they did hit on (Russell) ends up getting traded because he narced on a me-first gunner going out on his girlfriend

5) The Mozgov and Luol Deng contracts. The deal for KCP. Their entire 2018 offseason strategy where they collected every nutcase in the NBA that couldn't shoot because they thought toughness was the key to beating the Warriors

6) The Davis situation was handled so poorly that it completely destroyed their season and reduced the value of their assets, leading to them needing to put in even more draft capital to get the deal done

7) Their current GM is making up batshit stories about setting up a meeting for Heath Ledger and Kobe long after Ledger had died

That team is a fucking travesty. The Knicks haven't been anywhere near that dysfunctional since Isiah Thomas was there, and Phil Jackson was a Mongolian Clusterfuck in his own right.

Losing Kemba and waiting two years to flush Batum, MKG, Zeller, and all those other guys is probably the only path forward. Better than being a tax team and winning 37 games a year.

He didn't have to do either one of those in Cleveland and still bitched his way out of there. He wanted to do that until he didn't. That guy is a cancer.

Bucks basically had a gun to their head. They don't own any good pick assets in the future, Giannis is no lock to stay there long term, and they were already capped. Have to hope that Giannis improves his shooting. If that happens and Brogdon is 100% next playoffs, that team w/ Middleton and a MLE guy are favorites in the East next year.

Ok but in the end they still got Lebron to come there last year and AD this year. No player wants to go to the Knicks because of Dolan. The best player they have drafted in long time they just traded to the Mavs because he didn't want to be there.

The Warriors did it the old fashioned way. Through the draft.
