Nzoner's Game Room>Stadium Watch 2024 -Jackson County Residents: How Are You Voting?
Pablo 08:28 AM 03-28-2024
Vote in this poll if you actually live in Jackson county.

We've all shared our opinions in the other thread. But who gives a shit what somebody in Platte County or Johnson County or Phoenix or NYC thinks. We're all just noise.

The Star article explained it all. Blue Cross is wanting to sell. The city is willing. One other land owner for the site.

**** this jackass Royals owner and his downtown dreams. If they want to take a park take Penn Valley Park. The off-leash dog park along with Pioneers Mothers park and KC Kickball club. He would have one of the best views of the City and all the room to do what he wants with his vision of an entertainment area.
Just another person not knowing what they are talking about. Every KC discussion is filled with them.

What the fuck is this? People who just want to watch a game are now being lumped into truefan status? That’s a load of shit.

I speak Valley Boy.

It’s not the desire to watch the game. It’s the choice of blue horse blinders.

Then I realized it's the K as it currently sits and now I know why they need to move.

The K continues to be well received among even the most traveled of baseball fans.

Finally found the old plan from the early 00s for the ballpark at that site.

Interesting. Never knew they already had a sort of concept for that site.

The more I think about this idea the more I really like it.

It is in the city but has minimal disruptions to things around it. It is transit adjacent in a lot of ways and that can keep expanding. There is a history of having events in the area and one of the biggest plusses is you have 3 land owners in the area who are open to playing ball.

Yeah, that site makes a ton of sense the more I look at it.

That was before they decided to remodel the Sports Complex vote in 2006. Kietzman and WHB were really pushing for it since they had some condos in the Western Auto building.

Yeah, it gets better the more you think about it. There are some existing parking structures in the area to support Crown Center already, and you can probably find a close-ish spot to build a new one, too.

There would be lots of ways to access the stadium, too - including the street cars. Decent highway access. And you can route traffic north, east, and west without adding huge or inconvenient travel times for folks.

You'd have to make sure to NOT direct gameday car traffic to Grand or you're creating problems.

Right on the light rail track, probably the most parking possibilities in the Downtown area, no more bitching about crap hotels, and even a little space for Sherman to include a venue of some sort. They just have to build over the tracks like they plan to do over 670. I like it.
