McGinn on Mayfield:

Russell Wilson is very much a comparison.” In December, he became the first walk-on to win the Heisman Trophy.
On Allen:

“He looks the part and a good athlete,” a third scout said. “But you talk about lacking in being a winning quarterback. He has a lot of bad tape (even) at that level. Somebody will still take him high. Are we going on what the tape is and the production and the winning? Or are we going on this guy looks like he should be an NFL quarterback and how he throws the ball?”

Not exactly glowing praise of Allen there. Sheesh.

Another scout compared him to Bortles, but I didn't want to copy/paste everything.

Ben Allbright: Multiple #Broncos sources feel Kirk Cousins is likely headed to Minnesota.

Did you not learn during the Peters trade that Allbright just guesses/is fed bad info?

Minnesota makes a ton of sense but Allbright doesn't know anything.

Nothing is done until its done. Vikings would be better for him as in 2020 Denver will be letting go of their stars. Older expensive players will be gone.

I don’t think Elway wants to pay for Kirk. It wouldn’t surprise me if Kubiak convinced him to bring in Keenum. I wouldn’t be surprised if they brought in Keenum and didn’t draft a QB at 5.

Matt Miller said Cousins is down to Vikings or Jets

From Florio, who has been low-key hinting at things like the Peters trade and Josh McDaniels leaving Indy long before anyone else in the media:

Here’s a theory/hypothesis/whatever: Only the Jets are seriously interested, and the other three teams are essentially leverage. The Cardinals, Broncos, and Vikings would be willing participants in this dance, because showing interest in Cousins could help them leverage other arrangements.

If Case Keenum wants too much from the Vikings, the Vikings can shrug and say, “We’ll sign Cousins instead.” If A.J. McCarron wants too much from the Cardinals, the Cardinals can shrug and say, “We’ll sign Cousins instead.” If the Browns want too much from the Broncos for the first overall pick in the draft (a possibility that has been making the rounds), the Broncos can shrug and say, “We’ll sign Cousins instead.

Some think the Jets will offer the most to Cousins, but that he’ll choose to go somewhere else. In the end, the gap between the Jets and everyone else may be too big to justify saying no to New York.

Legal tampering starts on March 12th. Draft starts on April 26th. Cousins won't be looking for a job when the draft rolls around. Pretty pointless strategy if that's what the Broncos are going for.

Yeah, when the Rams traded up to #1 they did it two weeks before the draft, not a month away...

I'm more interested in the idea that the Browns/Broncos rumors could have some truth to them. I'm really not that concerned with how much Denver has to give up to get their guy.

Better just give the Browns what they want in case the Jets lose out on Cousins and beat you to the punch.
