So there's an article on NFL network saying that Orlando Brown is expected to sign for 6 years $145 mil.
That comes to $24.16 mil/yr and makes him the highest paid offensive lineman in football. It also would give him the 19th highest salary per year in the NFL
How would you feel if that is the contract he ended up signing?
I'm fine with it. He is a top 5 LT and he's only 26 next season. A young great LT is a guy you can't let leave. [Reply]

He needs to play at an elite level this year to earn his money.
Kansas City Chiefs left offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr. will report to camp on Monday and sign his franchise tender, sources told ESPN's Robert Griffin III
Guy is reporting for the first day of pads. Seems completely reasonable. Let’s stop the hate and hope this guy balls out this season and we need to pay him actual Trent Williams money next year. [Reply]

I don’t see this reporting as anything but a positive. Reporting while camp is going on in St Joe is more than I expected. Good for him. [Reply]

The point is he will have earned that pay by being on par with Trent Williams. [Reply]
The point is that he will never be at Trent’s talent level no matter how many camps he shows up too. Very happy he is showing up and not holding out but that still doesn’t make him the best LT in the game.
It does how ever allow Veach to trade him now that he will have signed the tag. [Reply]
According to sources, Orlando Brown Jr. turned down the Chiefs last offer of a 6 year, $144 million contract with a $30.25 million signing bonus. A lack of security with no guaranteed money after the first 2 years derailed any agreement. Brown Jr. is betting on himself.
