Last year, a run on first down would lead to 2nd and 8. Then 1 or 2 passing downs.
This year, that run on first might lead to 2nd and 3. Then we can still run to pick up the first.
Just being more effective running the ball will lead to more runs, even if we aren’t necessarily shifting the style of our offense. We’ll just have better success and better opportunities on the ground.
I think the line, and Clyde in the screen game is gonna have this offense popping like when we had Kareem and it was pick your poison. If we don’t lose Hunt, I feel we beat NE, despite Dee Fucking Ford. But we might still have old man Buttons at DC. [Reply]

Maybe, but man I just can’t help but think if we stick with the run in the SB, we would have had a better shot. The runs were actually effective when we did it for the most part. And enough gashes would have forced them to adjust their D a little. And I’ll NEVER understand WHAT THE FUCK Andy was doing right before halftime. I was sitting mouth open in shock looking at the TV. He was not.
Jones looks like a completely different player, and not just in terms of weight. His aggression, speed, and speed to power look to be redlining at this new weight and position. I love it.
Containing Jones 1 on 1 is wildly different than containing a lesser pass rusher when you have one side protected by a guard.
He was already the #2 or #3 DT in the league before the move. He is also hitting his prime. This should not be a surprise to many. [Reply]

Yes, same mistake he made against the Pats in the AFCCG. I never thought we'd see him do that again but we did. IDK, Andy has his flaws. [Reply]

I think so too, but the total statistics likely won’t be so crazy. That defense was historically bad, so a lot of our opponents stayed in games that should’ve been blowouts. [Reply]
