Nzoner's Game Room>The Official 2022 FIFA World Cup Thread
TripleThreat 05:48 PM 11-09-2022

YOUNG AMERICANS
The USMNT was by far the youngest team to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, garnering valuable experience going through the rigors of World Cup qualifying. Through 14 qualifiers, the USA Starting XI came in at an average of 23.82, almost two years younger than the next closest team, Ghana at 25.67. Together, the other 31 participating teams averaged a Starting XI age of 27.5 through qualifying, nearly four full years older than the U.S. Sources say this is one of the youngest, but most talented teams the U.S. has ever fielded. While they may not win the world cup this year, they may garner the experience needed to make a serious run on home soil in the year 2026 when the World Cup comes back to North America.

Most of these Argentina players play for European clubs, so they know the assholes they were dealing with.
I don’t know if they want to get into mental games with the Croatians today is all I’m saying. They have the talent to beat Croatia 2-0, but if they let the emotions of the game play a part today they will lose.

Also, I have no dog in the fight between the Dutch and Argentina. I was simply saying that Messi’s comment came off as completely idiotic. Van Gaal ran a tactical masterpiece with throwing deep balls and putting pressure on them. Van Gaal is one of the best coaches of all time and for Messi to try and say he wasn’t playing good soccer for using a strategy that obviously worked came off as idiotic and childish was all I was getting at. Not to mention the free kick at the end of the game was probably one of the best set pieces of all time. If Messi wants respect he needs to show respect for others as well. All Van Gaal said was that he was a liability on the defensive side of the ball which is obvious as he’s aged. I respect what both have brought to the game of soccer, but Messi and Argentina came off as bitches. The Dutch did too if that makes you feel better jettio.

Whoever the color man is on this broadcast.. you should know how to pronounce the players' names by now.

This crew is pretty lame but come on. It's the semifinal.

I don't think that penalty is a definitive as the announcers are making it. I'm not arguing that it isn't, but he made a play on it.

Messi 34' (pen)

Too bad, Livakovic has had such a great tournament. Hope that isn't decisive.

Was going to say the same thing. I'm giving it, but it's not the most obvious penalty in history.

Wow. A Messi smash for the penalty and that absolute Maradona like moment from Alvarez. They’re feeling good! The perfect start for them. Now Croatia is completely out of their element having to play on the front foot. This could get ugly.

You can get at Argentina, the Dutch did it. Croatia are going to have to find an offensive posture, but they have players who can do it.

About five goals like that second one each game and Americans would watch soccer.
