So there's an article on NFL network saying that Orlando Brown is expected to sign for 6 years $145 mil.
That comes to $24.16 mil/yr and makes him the highest paid offensive lineman in football. It also would give him the 19th highest salary per year in the NFL
How would you feel if that is the contract he ended up signing?
I'm fine with it. He is a top 5 LT and he's only 26 next season. A young great LT is a guy you can't let leave. [Reply]
Christian had a 76.9 pass blocking grade....Brown had 74.4.
Brown was the 2nd best run blocking OL...Christian pretty much sucks at it.
Wondering if having a top 3 Guard next to you helps your win rate...
At any rate...Veach looks to have hedged.
I think this was all a potential strategy...to franchise him, see where he's at after an entire off-season. Pass protection is more important in this scheme...and the Chiefs were against the wall due to Fishers injury.
OBJ was serviceable...but you dont build your team around paying top dollar for middle of the road players. You use that kind of cash to get a good DE next year...then move up and draft a LT. [Reply]
If Brown misses camp and then gets beat by Watt and Bosa (assuming Watt is healthy at that point, a stretch) in weeks 1 and 2, he can forget about a reset market kinda deal.
He needs to play at an elite level this year to earn his money. [Reply]

We dont run the ball much, and really dont ever need to so how good a LT is at run blocking almost doesn't even matter. [Reply]

We will run as much as we usually do, which isn't much. It's the right thing to do when you have Patrick Mahomes as QB and dog shit at RB. [Reply]

I think Andy learned from the 2nd Half of the Bengals game. You have to run it down their throats if they want to drop 7-8 and pin their ears back up front. We have the horses upfront, running back shouldn't matter, ROJO and CEH will do just fine. This will force teams to play us differently and will let Mahomes go back to being Mahomes. [Reply]
